***Checks library*** MX by Deftones --------------37 mins All Apologies by Nirvana -------31 mins Do they count? Anyway, some real stuff here: Atom Heart Mother Suite by Pink Floyd ---------------------------23 mins Echoes by Pink Floyd ---------------------------------------------23 mins Pastachio Medley by Smashing Pumpkins ---------------------------23 mins Psychological Recovery... Six months by Hans Zimmer -------------- 18 mins I have that track too! But the Band is called "Bohren and the Club of Gore" with the album called "Sunset mission" fantastic album.
Lol yeah, you're right. Apparently I was distracted when posting this. But yes, great record, it's super moody music
The thing is that until recently there were length restrictions on media that limited how big a musician could make a song. about 74 minutes on CD, and like 25 minutes a side on vinyl. So if I say Mike Oldfield - "Tubular Bells" do I count side A and side B as one 50 minute song or two ~25 minute songs. Ditto for Jethro Tull's "Thick as a Brick." In either case I don't think those albums were meant to be broken up into any smaller pieces at all, but the format necessitated them to add a break. You'd have to go digital indie to find something longer than 75 minutes I think.
A song called "The Great Escape" by Seventh Wonder It is around 30 minutes long, and one of my favourite songs of all time
The longest track I have in my iTunes library is "Look At Me Go" by Swans, which is 46:07. Of course, I have some DJ sets from people like Tyler, The Creator, Syd tha Kyd, Borgore, etc. that are an hour plus. But, I win the thread anyway. I present The Flaming Lips' twenty-four hour song. Here is part one. It's six hours.
Longest song has to be Change of Seasons by Dream Theater - 23:08 min duration. I think X Japan has a 57 min song or something.
