Disney is set to buy Lucasflims and release Episode 7 in 2015: http://money.cnn.com/2012/10/30/technology/disney-buys-lucasfilm/index.html?hpt=hp_t3 I hope I don't get disappointed, again.
Star Wars (and Indiana Jones) out of Lucas' hands is one of the greatest things to happen to cinema. And I'm assuming he can't dick around with the OT, so that's always nice. But a follow-up trilogy? Is this really even necessary? Also: Why?!
Because money, riches and loot. Also this makes Leia a Disney princess. And Star Wars in Kingdom Hearts? And..... star wars at Disneyland? Star Wars with Spider Man at Disneyland? Wow a lot of stuff can happen with this. I would totally not mind if the prequel trilogy was redone >_>
Oh wait Star Wars has been at Disneyland for ages, and I've been seeing it since I was little. All this anachronistic stuff hella confuses me.
Well that came out of nowhere. Lucasfilm, ILM, Skywalker Sound, Lucasarts, Star Wars, Indianna Jones..., big move by Disney.
I'm actually really intrigued by this. I wonder if it'll have to do with the force unleashed series as there's been rumors of that. Also the character is based on a real actor. So it'll be interesting to see.
Just saw the deal they made. $4.05 billion lol. So nasty. They must have a lot of things planned if they forked over that much. I thought they only bought out Marvel for $1 billion.
They'd make most of that back with another trilogy alone. Hell, they may even turn a profit if they're actually good.
I bet it wouldn't take a trilogy. A new movie+merch= big fucking dough. Those 2 alone won't get their money back but then you have books and video games and such. Star wars has so much going one they'll make that back no problem.
Want to know what my first reaction to Disney buying Lucasfilm Ltd was? Holy shit... The Star Wars Holiday Special is now in the Disney Vault!
Hope it makes way for new (talented/visionary) directors to come in and put their spin on the Star Wars universe.
