I'm not going to pretend like I know anything about percussion but to me Rob's work on Living Things seems to to be the most overlooked aspect of the album, his work seems really under appreciated to me. In my opinion his talent really shines on tracks like Powerless, Victimized and Castle of Glass. So to all you drummers out there, or avid LP fans, what are your thoughts? And what do you think is Rob's best song?

The Little Things is his best stuff. Everything else is below average.

I don't know about albums, but back when he used to do drum solos on Bleed It Out it was awesome. I was lucky enough to see it live back in 2008.

Bleed it Out Drum solo, In Pieces, TLGYA, CoG, VD, Victimized, and more.

Basically I think MTM and LT are the best drum wise. MTM overall shows better drumming and LT has those standout tracks with epic drums

I always really enjoyed In Pieces from a drummer's point of view. Not sure about its complexity, but I love the rhythm and build-up throughout the song.

Rob continues to grow and evolve as a drummer. That's about all I have to say about that.

I think drummers (and drums as an instrument) are generally underrated.

I agree with Apop, In Pieces is amazing. Also I agree with Blake, drums stand out the most in Minutes and Living Things. Rob is an excellent drummer, even above average I'd say.

The ending of The Catalyst is some of my favorite Bourdon drumming.

He's a really good drummer but hardly ever gets to show it since most LP songs have such basic drum beats.

I disagree. Rob wants to contribute to a song instead of making it all about him. The great thing that he does that not a lot of drummers have is that he has embraced electric drums. If they sound good in a song and can contribute to it, he has no qualms using them.

I've always loved his drumming on about 80% of MTM, he also did some of my favorite drumming on BITS, WTCFM and The Catalyst, too. My favorite drumming that he did on LT is probably Victimized by far, no other tracks from the album stand out much on that album.

Personally, whenever I listen to Linkin Park, I don't expect to hear the skill of proficient musicians. I truly believe their strength is in songwriting, therefore the level of musical difficulty is irrelevant in that context. If I want to listen to complex drumming, I would rather listen to Meshuggah or Behemoth. All that being said, I think every drum part Rob has written has fulfilled the needs of the individual song, without the constraints of technicality to prevent him from doing so.

The Catalyst. Go fucking listen to that shit right fucking now. And what I want you to do is try to air drum along. A million dollars says you can't fucking do it.

Victimized is a standout track as is Roads Untravelled. On other albums I think BIO and TLGYO are very good. Most of his drumming after the first two albums is great, although you've got to give him credit for some of the HT stuff, thats actually very good.

    Other than Rob, I agree.

But he's actually a ridiculously good drummer, not least for the fact that he does not drum in anything close to the usual hi-hat/snare beat that every other drummer in the world uses on every song (See: AC/DC for a perfect example)
