I'll be honest. The only reason I like LITE is so I can completely ignore the first two albums.

I like how the hip new thing on this website is to criticize the one song that was almost unanimously deemed incredible by the community upon release of Living Things.

I actually don't understand the "it's chorus is a carbon-copy of what they've done before" argument. Sure you could say it's rocket-propelled by angst but the fact is the lyrics themselves are much less of a "Fuck you, I hate my life, poor me" type as seen in EVERY Hybrid Theory/Meteora song, and more of a "I'm moving on and leaving you behind" kind of direction, like the rest of Living Things.

I will agree that Mike's verses aren't the greatest, but they flow with the song. And his delivery on the bridge is just epic no matter how cliche the lyrics.

New Divide called. They said they want their "Worst song since Meteora" title back. :kappa:

Serious? I really think that this song have impressive lyrics. I must be stupid or just my English is very bad.

I don't see it from a lyrics standpoint, I see it as a complete rehash of What I've Done, which was pretty shitty in itself, only with synths and robot noises.

    "And I'm not a robot
    I'm not a monkey
I will not dance even if the beat's funky"

That's all I have to say. I like WTCFM, but surely not for the lyrics.

Wow. I've never liked What I've Done and New Divide that much, until maybe last year. What I've Done is even in my top 5 LP songs now, and I listen to New Divide daily.

As for Robot Boy/WTCFM, Robot Boy is one of my favorite LP songs lyrically, and I adore WTCFM because of the beat, it's just perfect...

And LITE, I won't comment the lyrics (don't know what the hell he's talking about), but I don't get all the love that song is getting. It's a decent track, beat is good, Mike's rapping is ''eeeh'' until the breakdown, the chorus is similar to Easier To Run (at least to me), and the track itself is good, but to call it one of LP's best tracks is just ridiculous.

I think it was the most expected track to most, since it was one of the first confirmed tracks, and those early reviews were really positive... But, as a track, nothing special.

It's amazing how tastes can be different! I think it's amazing exactly because of it.

This to the power of infinity!

It's kinda hard to believe that they actually took a step back from something as good as ATS.

I like Chester's lyrics, but Mike's rap lyrics are fucking awful. The way I see this is all the people bitching about how good this track is will eventually start treating it like Numb. First they loved it because of the great sound, but eventually they will realize how amateur the lyric value was. The lyrics really are no different than Meteora's, but I guess they wanted to pull off at least one shitty ass song like that.

LITE really isn't that great and on a whole, LT isn't as good as Reanimation or ATS.

Hands Held High, Lies Greed Misery and The Messenger are worse than LITE in my opinion... If you would replace Mike's lyrics with something High Voltage/Papercut worthy rapping, it would be one hell of a song...

    I'm just asking myself:

How songs like The Messenger, Irridescent, BITS, or WAK sound that extraordinary to you? Honestly, they're far from being revolutionary, sound-wise or structure-wise.

The Messenger just sounds like every other acoustic song, as much as Irridescent just sounds like a generic indie song. They're both pretty pretty generic. And WAK isn't that far from old LP material.

I don't see how songs like COG, Victimized, STB or UIB are inferior to those. For example, I can name a ton of songs which sounds more or less like The Messenger, but I can't with Victimized.

I love LITE's lyrics. Especially in the bridge:

You can tell em all now,
I dont back up, I don't back down
    I won't fold up and I won't bow
    I won't roll over, don't know how...

REALLY fun song to rap along to.
