every since i heard lies greed misery i thought it was alot similar to wretches and kings.. since im bored i decided to make this thread so comment which song u think is better i think their close but i say wretches and kings.
"Wretches and Kings," but I like what they were doing with "LIES GREED MISERY." But, every song on ATS is better than anything on LT, so it never really had a chance.
Both are non-single tracks that were the second song premiered from their respective albums...both are very rap-heavy with aggressive chorus vocals from Chester, both have a very chopped-up/sample-based instrumental composition, both are in the key of A...and they're both arguably the worst tracks on their respective albums. Yeah, can't really pick one here.
A big LOL to that. Please A Thousand Suns has flaws just like any other LP album. Wretches And Kings is one of them. Two speeches were completely unnecessary and scream filler for the sake of being different. Lies Greed Misery takes it for me. It gets to the point and sticks with it.
Wretches and Kings, by far. It has a fierce beat, echoes a classic song, eventually got a remix that featured the guy who wrote that classic song, and became more relevant once Occupy became a hot-button issue. LGM has incredibly awkward rapping that doesn't do much beyond some generic bragging, a half-baked instrumental and possibly the stupidest chorus the band ever wrote and yes, I'm including Crawling and Somewhere I Belong when I say that.
Selecting the lesser of the two evils, I'll choose Wretches and Kings. The rap itself is pretty awful to say the least, with the exception of the GBC remix, but the beat was so fucking great.
W&K I just can't get over the "Yaaaaaaaay fuck you!!!!!!!!" ness of that other song. Also, it would be faster if the OP included a poll.
Judging on first listen for each song (I remember the first time I heard both very clearly), I couldn't get that beat for W&K out of my head. Also, Wretches is so much more powerful than LGM, would've loved to see it live before the band realized Chester can't figure out the beat hahaha
