Iam 100% sure most of you guys/gurls have memorized the lost in the echo lyrics but this might shock you as an uprofessional mistake by mike shinoda (or whoever wrote the lyrics for the song). In the lyrics of lost in the echo you will find in the second verse there is this line "Y'all go hard, I go smart How's it working out for y'all in the back, huh?" but in the same song and in the 3rd verse shinoda raps "I don't care where the enemies are. Can't be stopped, all I know: Go Hard! Won't forget how I got this far And every time, saying" what do you think of this and if there is any explanation to the contradiction i will be very happy to know it because i might be the one at fault here and please stay on subject. Everyone can be rest assured i love this band with all my heart and when i criticize them here for a mistake i do it for their good and i dont go over the line and as much as i love them no one is perfect Anyways this will never ruin my enjoyment to this song and i will keep listening to it everyday
Dude, I totally noticed that too!!! At first I face palmed but then I thought about the context of the song and felt that the further the song goes along, the more deranged and "lost" Mike gets in the echo. My reasoning was that lyrically, he was trying to demonstrate confusion and convey a dazed sense of feeling that things were once clear and eventually, all lines become blurred.
honestly makes sense. the more i concentrate the more i notice that he tries to be "CRAZY" in the last verse and presents someone who has lost it but tryin to show he still got it so comes the "all i know: GO HARD!"
For me, the last verse in the song is supposed to be like that. It is reminiscent of the phrase, and I know I'm gonna possibly get facepalms for this, "get dirty with the people spreadin the dirt."
I think this is a pretty minor thing. It's kinda funny, and I think it'd be interesting if someone pointed it out to him.
Ya'll go hard, i go smart = While you go hard, i go smart instead. Then later he says all he can do is go hard, so yeah if not a error then a contradiction for sure. But i am pretty sure it was on purpose, but not sure why.
Maybe MS changed his mind midway through the song? "Fuck going hard, that's stupid because I go smart. Wait, wait, wait, I actually do go hard sometimes. Fuck."
lol I noticed this on a random listen once. The only conclusion I came to: Mike goes smart AND hard. Problem solved.
mike would be like i lold at ur reply LOL well maybe this is true or maybe u r the one who got it right but that's the most obvious one clearly
I don't think it's a mistake, pretty hard for the whole band and Rick Rubin to miss something in a song.
