I've gotten into them only recently. El Camino's been getting a lot of spin from me. Once I exhaust this album I will move on to their older stuff.
El Camino is a great album! All of their older material is pretty awesome. Attack & Release, The Big Come Up, Magic Potion. Then there's Brothers which is the album that made me fall in love with them in the first place. Lots of great music to listen to.
I hate to sound like an elitist hipster when I say this, but I remember when The Black Keys were literally playing out of a garage in Akron. A couple of my friends went to see them and they said they were pretty good and could see them being huge one day. I kind of wrote off the comment since my friend tends to say that about every local band he sees, but apparently he got this one right (the other one was Miss May I). I don't like them very much because I think they're bland, boring and generic, but that's just me, and perhaps I haven't heard enough of their music to form a truly valid opinion on them.
They put on a great live show, that's for sure. I saw them at Edgefest this year and they seriously announced that the Edgefest crowd was better than Coachella (which they had played immediately prior to us).
