Now here's a question; if gender norms and roles and the like are mostly, if not entirely, subjective social stereotypes that are always changing and at points even completely reserve, how does the whole "having to prove I'm the other gender!" thing occur?
That's a really hard question lol. It's such hard thing to explain. And I think the reasons are always different person to person. It's just something that's with you. For me its always been like this separate person. I guess really it does kind of come down to society's roles, wanting to fit into that. Idk, its really complicated. It's there I just have trouble finding the words
Wait, I don't even know what you are talking about. Where did I mention that everyone has to be attracted to the same things I am attracted to? But doesn't that prove that gender transformation might sometimes not work out perfectly? I can't even tell if she's a girl or a guy in that picture.
Maybe they had a shitty plastic surgeon. Maybe their transition isn't yet complete. Maybe they choose to look that way.
I think so, yeah. I mean, MTF girls are, for all intents and purposes, girls. I don't think it really matters what they have/had under their pants.
Off topic, but would that be a matter of opinion? I know little about this person, only what I've read. For example, Source: http://kotaku.com/5627165/you-are-looking-at-three-dudes
Kotaku isn't really a reliable source for anything concerning the FGC (fighting game community). Sure, she's a big name, but one of the best? No. There are plenty of Viper players out there that could wipe the floor with her. I won't deny that she's good. But she isn't one of the best. That title is generally reserved for people like Daigo "The Beast" Umehara, Mago the 2D God, Tokido "The Murderface", Momochi, Fuudo and so on. And that's just limiting to Japan. She probably couldn't do this, for example: For further proof, here's a list with the top rankings of every player of SSF4AE2012 in the world: http://www.ssfranking.com/ The first Viper player to even appear is Kyabetsu at #27 in the World. The next highest is Dath at 50. If you click to sort by Viper players only, she doesn't even make it into the Top 10. EDIT: Here's a video of her playing one of the best in Japan/the World. Yes, she wins this one. But he's also playing a character he doesn't use anymore.
No. Not amount of hormones and surgery can make someone the opposite sex. Primarily because whomever I date I might want to marry and have a family with later in life.
I married one...... Wasn't any fault of her own however because she was born that way. She wasn't a male whom became a female through science. I understand that people do it to become happy and I'm fine with that, but I just choose to not date someone whose had a gender reassignment.
Same can be said with anyone with Gender Identity Disorder. I mean, I get what you're saying, but using "Primarily because whomever I date I might want to marry and have a family with later in life." is a silly reason considering you can marry and have a family with whomever you want (marriage yay! And adoption, etc.).
Quite true with the latter and I'm all for adoption. Especially considering that both me and my brother were.
How can other people say that there are people on this forum that wouldn't date a transgendered person? That's an arrogant and ignorant thing to say as I'm sure there are people that would. In fact, it doesn't even matter to me, I like who I like and if they happened to be transgendered, so what?
. I think people should be dated as whatever gender they identify as; in other words, if somebody was born as a girl but identifies as a boy, then they should be able to be somebody's boyfriend.
It's the same as somebody saying that they wouldn't date someone who is tall, skinny, pale, dark, fat, etc. Just because you personally wouldn't date someone because that happened to be [fill in the blank], that does not make you arrogant or a bigot, or ignorant (depending on reasoning). It is a preference. "would not" does not carry the same meaning. I wouldn't suck a guy's dick. Not because I hate dicks, people who suck dicks, or men in general. It's just something that doesn't interest me and I would prefer not to do it.
Well, nobody's been put in the position so far, clearly. Circumstance is everything, and the fact that you ignore that completely and say shit like "that's an arrogant and ignorant thing to say" without even considering as much is pretty dumb. Made all the more ironic that you're whole argument is apparently anyone who didn't immediately say yes is either too bigoted or cowardly to say otherwise. Which is itself an arrogant and ignorant thing to say.
