Thanks to good old modern technology, Tupac Shakur was resurrected more than 15 years after his death in the form of a hologram to take the stage and perform the tunes "Come With Me, "Hail Mary" and "Gangsta Party" alongside Snoop Dogg. Snoop was later joined by the likes of Dr. Dre, Eminem, 50 Cent, Wiz Khalifa and other actual flesh-and-blood artists, making his set at the music fest all the more memorable. It wasn't just Tupac, though, who was remembered, as images of Nate Dogg appeared on a screen in the background as Snoop performed "Ain't No Fun." But not surprisingly, it was the appearance of Tupac that continues to have everyone buzzing. In fact, his hologram now even has its own Twitter account, @hologramtupac. Yep. Good old modern technology.
First, the song is called "Hail Mary". Not "Come With Me, Hail Mary". Second, Snoop being as high as he always is kinda looks freaked the fuck out by HoloPac.
That's just fuckin' wrong. Next thing you know there'll be a Beatles reunion and a Nirvana arena tour.
I must admit that I am disappointed. When I first saw this thread I was all like "Zombies? Kickass!" but nope. On a more serious note, while certainly interesting, I hope this doesn't start a trend. It would be creepy.
There's a holographic anime J-Pop girl in Japan. She's very popular. Anime characters singing on stage. Scary stuff.
Watched it while it was happening on youtube, was so fucking sick. Heard that most of the crowd looked legit scared though.
heard about this, finally got around to watching it. and I got to say that hollogram looked way more real than i thought it would
I read an article about how it wasn't a true hologram (in the Star Wars sense). What the producers did was put a clear screen across the front of the stage at a 45-degree angle and projected the image of Tupac onto the screen. It's the same thing American Idol producers did when Frank Sinatra "performed" for Simon's birthday. It's still amazing, though. I bet Snoop got extra-high after the performance to cope with the fact that he just performed with a dead guy.
