This seems to be what living things was about.... the game involves "consuming" other things, but these things have to be smaller than yourself (hence why the red ones dont turn color until you are larger than them) food chain, survival of the fittest, etc.

 

You need to move around the screen by clicking on the opposite side of you that you want to move. So click to the left of your blob to move right.

You can also "eat" the black ones. You'll get bigger and the red ones will start getting black too.

 

I slept through my college sciences. What is the opposite of cell division? Living Things ~ organism ~ cell... catch me?

Can't cells consume each other for energy in the metabolic process? This doesn't unlock a What I've Done video Rick Roll does it?

 

FWIW, I would definitely call these sounds we are hearing while playing the game 'snippets'. There may be more substantial stuff coming but I wouldn't be surprised if this was what Mike was sort of talking about unlocking.

It appears there are badges (a triangle in the top right of the screen for me) that will possibly correspond to your progress through this game.

 

What about Reincarnate? It's mentioned in the game when you 'die' and it would be a fairly apt description of what they are trying to do from what I have read.

 

Pity about the collab tbh. Leave all that stuff for a Reanimation 2.0 FFS.

 

The way I see it it seems more like when they used live strings on Breaking the Habit. They just outsourced that one instrument while taking care of the rest of the arrangement themselves (edited: in this song; I know they did the arrangement in house on BTH). Reanimation was more of a complete reinterpretation of the songs, while this might be just an extra layer on what LP already had.

 

The song that stood out the most to me was In My Remains. Just sounds dark and fucking epic! And I'm extremely happy that they mentioned brutal screams in Lost in the Echo. Castle of Glass also sounds like the most creative name LP has had for a song.

All in all, consider me PUMPED

 

If you would have told me 5 or 6 years ago when He Poos Clouds by Final Fantasy came out, that in 2012 he'd be working with Linkin Park... I would have slapped you in the mouth.
