Yes, that would be in the "good thing" column for sure. As you can see I simply misunderstood the meaning of indie here. Since I hate indie-rock with all my forces just seeing that word related to LP made me go nuts. :awesome:

I also talked about LP playing indie rock music.

Linkin Park => independent label, no complaints neither.

I love indie music and the majority of indie bands that I listen to was Mike who introduced to me. Not that I don't like metal and heavy stuff, actually I'm big fan of Metallica, Atreyu, A7X, SOAD, etc, but I rather they in the indie rock path than be attached to "new metal box" again.

anyway, as you can see by his reply, he was indeed talking about indie-rock, so I wasn't the one who misunderstood the word here :p

For the record, indie-rock is an EXTREMELY broad genre. It doesn't just mean emo, or soft rock or anything like that. Please read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indie_rock

A lot of very good, classic rock bands from the 90s were considered "indie" at one point.

LOL... That was hilarious. Still too eager about hearing some news. It's been just two days and I'm like I'm gonna explode if I don't read something from the band.

To me, Linkin Park has been hard to classify. They are indeed a WB property, but their mindset with ATS was definitely indie. I, for one, don't necessarily tend to like "Indie-Rock", but I think Linkin Park becoming independent would be a great thing. Their fanbase is big enough now that they no longer need to be supported by a large label. Linkin Park with no label constraints would be the best situation for fans and the band, in my opinion. At the end of "Meeting of a Thousand Suns", there was a long conversation that summed up their mindset toward the label. I really hope they continue along that path, and that they eventually do become indie. I absolutely loved everything about ATS.

Just my 2 cents on the "indie" discussion, take it... or burn it. :dino:

Yes, I misunderstood you as well. At any rate, "indie-rock" is too general of a term for me to make an argument for it or against it.

Also, what do you guys have as Linkin Park's genre in your media players? Seeing as how it's difficult to class them into anything, I just have them listed as "Alternative," though I've toyed in the past as giving them their own genre of "Linkin Park." :)

In my library they go as just "rock", in some cases Alternative Rock, or just unknown, lol.. But I don't dig too much on it, that's why I put only "rock" in most cases.
