This is one of the reasons I love this website so much! Always on the ball!

The name of the song, Burn It Down, sounds great. Can't wait to hear it! I know it's only a rumour, but I want to believe it's true!

I will be checking back here for confirmation every hour or so!

So we're all cool with that title. And, if this news turns out to be untrue, I think we could only get a cooler-sounding song title in its place. ;)

Yeah I know. I meant that there was a majority of songs on ATS that had titles unrelated to the lyrics

Hell, if it's released now, then maybe we'll have two singles before it drops.

I just don't believe this. It's too early. And the title sounds absolutely nothing like Linkin Park.

That depends on individual interpretation :)

Lol. Any title could be LP's by now. They named a song Bubbles.

What he is trying to say is that the majority of songs didn't have the words from the titles in them.

    Robot Boy.

... I think we moved past the "not sounding like a Linkin Park title" a long time ago.

Ahhhhh! No one understands what I'm saying. Yes I know it can be interpreted! I just meant that the lyrics weren't specifically stated in the lyrics.

    Thank You for understanding

We said the same thing about "The Catalyst" before we heard it, and "What I've Done" back in 2007. Both of those titles seemed unusual to us; I think that, in contrast, this new song title sounds very Linkin Park-esque coming after the titles on "Midnight" and "A Thousand Suns" :)

Ah. Well, the cool thing about those titles is that, rather than just being lines or words from a song chorus (in the relevant cases), they can function as an entirely different piece of the songs' identities altogether. The way you personally link the song titles to the lyrics becomes a factor in how you interpret both the titles and their corresponding songs.

To me, that's part of what Shinoda meant when he spoke of the ideas in the music and the lyrics being "three-dimensional". :) You might have your interpretation of a song's lyrics but, then, the title might make you look at them in a different light

No one really knows the direction the album is going in. They could name a song "pretty pink flowers" for all we know...

The ATS titles are abstract, but Burn It Down is just not.. I don't know.

So I haven't had any emails from mgmt or anybody connected to mgmt saying that it's completely false yet, so cross your fingers guys...this could be legit. After all, it's been posted for several hours now.

As for release dates, the band is probably going to release the single, go on a 1-2 month tour of Europe where they'll sneak in some previews of new songs, and then they'll likely release the album after that. If I remember right, Coldplay did the same thing with "Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall" (single, then tour, then album).

And come on, after ATS...are we really going to judge something because it "doesn't seem like Linkin Park would do it"? ATS proved that "conventional Linkin Park" is no longer definable anymore. Linkin Park do what they want.

They're not going the ATS route. Mike and Chester have said it already in the interviews. Mix of old and new. "Firecracker" record. This kind of title is exactly what you should expect.

You're right, but can you just please stop comparing the new Linkin Park album with Mylo Xyloto?

Only thing I don't like about that, Derek, is previewing songs prior to an official release. I like music CD quality on the first listen
