Gotye (go-te-yae) is a 31-year-old Australian artist of Belgian descent I've been listening to a lot lately. You may have heard his successful single "Somebody That I Used to Know". I've listened to the whole album and the only song that I like is Somebody That I Used To Know... very deceiving, Gotye.
Gotye has always been hit and miss for me. All the songs I like by him are really good and rank amongst my favorites, the rest I feel are okay at best.
Making Mirrors is a pretty decent album, although it's pretty inconsistent. With that I mean, if you're like my one of those people who like to listen to an album start til end, you'll find some songs on Making Mirrors that don't really fit with the other songs (I'm talking about you State of the Art). I expect to see a lot more of Gotye in the future, he's a great artist but I think he was very experimental on this album (he always is experimental but anyways). Still, there are some really good songs imo on Making Mirrors. Somebody That I Used To Know, I Feel Better, Easy Way Out, Bronte, Save Me, In Your Light, Eyes Wide Open to name a few. Proud to be Belgian ^^
