Which is why I said that was my interpretation. It may be a working title that never got changed, but how I imagined the song to get its initial name is what makes art fun. I like to look at music with an open book. It's more fun for me that way.
Papercut is the first song from Hybrid Theory, maybe someone got a paper cut from the record contract. Possible, we know how much they loveee Warner.
Robot Boy to me is actually a pretty solid name imo. I mean, the lyrics are things like 'you say compassion's a flaw, and you'll never let it show' and 'you say you're not gonna fight, 'cause no one will fight for you'. Those are some pretty emotionless things to say. A robot doesn't have feelings therefore, the 'you' in the song is a robot boy (an emotionless person). At least, that's how I think about it
You know, Cure For The Itch is actually a pretty smart name, knowing the song is made out of scratches...
Lol, you really don't like Metal music, don't you? It could be the right meaning to the song if you stopped your sentence after "angsty kids". Because I'm not an angsty kid and I still like Metal. And there are tons of angsty kids who don't like Metal, but who listen to hardcore Techno or Gangsta Rap, or such things.
I don't have a problem with metal. I just threw metal into my explanation because I'm assuming that the people Robot Boy is aiming at are the kids who blast Hybrid Theory and Metallica and Slipknot. The "Linkin Park variety" angsty kid, if you will.
I still "blast" Hybrid Theory, Metallica (when I feel like it) and Slipknot (again, when I feel like it). I also love and appreciate Robot Boy. I used to be the "Metal-or-nothing" guy. I'm glad I have evolved from that because I would be missing a lot of aural enjoyment.
