    What a clusterfuck this story turned out to be. Honestly thought, ya'know, a little light debate, maybe a few people saying they're looking forward to the new album... never thought it would go this far. :lol:

    I saw that too. My guess is they thought it would be a better idea to plug their podcast from last year rather than undermine what Mike was saying, haha.

    I assumed it was because it's common sense that if Linkin Park had recorded a few songs between December 2010 and November 2011 (which I think we can all agree is pretty plausible), the executives would want to hear them. LP is one of WMG's hallmark bands, they're not going to let a meeting pass without bragging about new LP music.

    EDIT: I'd also like to clarify that the source is described as "close to the band's label". So it's not even someone "close to the band," it's someone "close to WMG". Basically, 99.5 wrote a news story based on the information of someone who doesn't even work at WMG. Is there a Starbucks across the street or something?

    I am currently under the belief that there will be at least a single by mid-late summer 2012. The story is probably complete bullshit but I the timing of it all may not be too far off. Plus I love the wait for the album. I love it so much

    The only piece that I think is even worth noting is how the radio station responded. Unless they're just lying more to save their butt (which seems like something only an idiot would do in this position), they're very serious about some of the things they've stated. They seem fairly confident in their source and how some sort of a promo was shown.

    I'm pretty sure I joking claimed that Lp's next album was going to be called Inhale-Exhale last year when there was a lot of news about the album being polarizing and such. If that's where they got that from then.. LOL.

    I knew it'd be too good to be true! Unless we see LP post something themselves or WB press announcement we shouldn't believe anything even if its claiming to have a legit source, its just not enough! :D

    Or it could be that Mike's just lashing out at people for any reason he can find, as he seems to be fond of doing lately. Quite frankly, I hardly read the guy's blog/tweets anymore because it seems like he's just getting more and more bitter as time goes on. Seems to be a common occurrence with members of bands that are trying to be all "ex-mainstream" these days.

    Whether the album is actually coming out this year or years from now, Mike's tweet appeared to discredit this article, and in the interest of reporting *accurate* news we featured not only Mike's response, but also the update from HOT 99.5. That's basically the reason I even made that post you quoted.
