With 2011 coming to a close, I thought it would be interesting to look back at this year for Linkin Park. What were the highlights of the year? Favorite show/performance? Favorite TV experience? Favorite song released this year? Favorite Music Video? Favorite LPTV? Favorite quote/joke made by a band member? Favorite humanitarian effort? Is there anything else that stuck out to you? Even though we didn't get a new studio album, it was certainly an eventful year for the band. Discuss!
No Roads Left over Bleed It Out was definitely a stand out for me. I never thought that we would hear that song in any sorts live.
Certainly wasn't when LP cancelled my show. I'm kidding. However I really enjoyed the iTunes Festival.
The St. Paul show that I went with to with Zane was an unforgettable experience. We got a meet and greet, we were the first fans to know that Iridescent would be in Transformers 3, we got a banner on stage, I got my ATS Vinyl cover signed, and the show was fucking perfect. As for other shows, The iTunes Festival like Jeff said was great and the cover of RITD was classic. And of course NRL over Bleed it Out was awesome as well. Other than that, I also got one of the signed New Divide set pieces which was pretty neat (thanks Casey lol). Also, the new LPU release was definitely a highlight as well. A lot of interesting songs on there and I enjoyed Slip a lot. But my absolute favorite memory from this year was making the news post saying the Pensacola show got cancelled and harassing Jeff about it 24/7 .
My favorite moment of this year was when Brad gave Benjamin the evil eye after Benjamin told him he had a nice shirt But honestly, nothing can beat that concert experience to your favorite artist. By far the best experience from Linkin Park this year.
The thing that stuck out most for me was the Chicago LPU Summit and concert, which eventually led me to creating an account here on the LPA.
Part of my conversation with Phoenix at the BFD meet and greet. Phoenix - "I'm showing off my math skills, are they good math skills?" I laughed and said "well they are better than mine at any rate."
Mine was when Issho Ni got released on my birthday. Sadly I couln't make it to away concerts, they did come to my state but I couldn't make it to St Paul to see it
The whole summit thing was cool even though I didn't get to go. Just gave me hope that one of these days they'll come close enough for me to drive. Guess we'll see how far I'm willing to drive here soon
Favorite show/performances were probably MSG earlier in the year, SNL, the summer tour in Europe was really cool, I loved watching the iTunes Festival online on the 4th of July. Favorite song released this year was probably either Slip or Blue from the LPU11 CD. Favorite music video is the Iridescent music video, I like that one a lot. My favorite LPTV is probably the US Tour videos. Favorite quote would probably be one from Chester saying the new album will polarize people, interested to see how that quote will live up to the final product. Favorite humanitarian effort would probably be doing the LA show with B'z for Japan. I also loved when the band did the New Divide intro for Moscow and in Asia once, as well as doing NRL over BIO in Asia, that was awesome. Rolling In The Deep cover was epic too.
My first LP concert at MSG and the little added extra that I could listen to the entire set or see most of the set (minus From The Inside and Breaking The Habit) anytime I like.
