This will be quite a popular opinion, but one of my favourite bands. Their latest album was good, but still one of the weakest in their discography. Supercollider and the Butcher were pretty good and should've been on the album.

King of Limbs was good, but my personal favorite is Kid A/Amnesiac (tied, and they should have been a double album). OK Computer and In Rainbows are up there too. idk why, but Idioteque freaks me out.

Yeah, I love these guys too. The King of Limbs wasn't up to their usual standards, but it's a solid album nonetheless.

The new singles Daily Mail and Staircase got released today. That makes up 11 tracks they released this year so I can finally consider King of Limbs lengthy enough. :p

Daily Mail is awesome, sounds like a b-side off OK Computer/The Bends.

Both songs were recorded live, and they sound fantastic.

Yeah I realized just now. It's a little disappointing they're charging for live tracks from something previously released. Or the fact you had to buy it separately from the album at all really.

The age old question, that even Hannah Montana asked:

    COLDPLAY, or RADIOHEAD???!?

^ I've never seen that question asked by anyone but you just now. :p

Mainly because Coldplay wish they could be half as good as Radiohead.

King of Limbs, I would argue, was actually one of their best, but the thing is that they have so many other fantastic albums that it doesn't place highly. I think I'd place it above the likes of Pablo Honey and The Bends. However, my favorite album from Radiohead is In Rainbows. To me, that album is completely flawless. Close behind it I would place OK Computer, Hail to the Thief, Kid A / Amnesiac (it's hard for me not to group those two albums together), King of Limbs, The Bends, and Pablo Honey

They're perhaps my new favorite band, considering the more I've listened to them the more I've realized that Muse sounds all the same while Radiohead constantly changes. With Radiohead, I'm listening to several different artists and I love it.

People must be insane to compare the two! Apart from being british, they sound nothing alike, CP are more radio-friendly, poppier, while Radiohead are experimental, dark, and off-the-wall.

Yeah, in a recent interview Chris Martin admited that he felt Coldplay where a "shit Radiohead", in some ways hes right  but CP are still a good band. a bit to mainstream for my ears but all the same, there a talented lot.

As they are of mine! I've know RH for years, but only recently started to really get into their music. Each album of theirs is so different, they never play it safe, and do something completely unique each time. I love their older stuff (from the bends to OK computer) but I feel i love there later stuff alot more. Its so much more sinister and ambiguous then I ever throught they where (go back 5 years ago, I'd have thought RH where just another genric radio-rock band, like Coldplay, but boy was I wrong!) Not forgetting their musicianship shines all through there career. I hope Linkin Park take another leaf out of RH's book, and keep changing from every album to album. :)

^ Don't get me wrong, I love Coldplay, one of my favourite bands and their release this year I'd actually rate better than King of Limbs. It's just that Radiohead's not at their peak any more and Coldplay arguably is. I'd suggest listening to Viva La Vida, the album, if you think they're generic radio-rock.

Yeah, I will say that Coldplay's Viva la Vida is very demonstrative of their capacity to go beyond what you might consider to be generic rock. It's arguably their best and most creative album. At least, it's my favorite.

But yes, the latter part of Radiohead's career has been the most impressive. They're just so tremendously creative and constantly reinventing themselves. I appreciate them so much.

Coldplay were definitely influenced by OK-Computer-era Radiohead on their first few albums, but, yeah, they don't have a lot in common now. I do like Coldplay, though.

Just for fun: OK Computer > Kid A > In Rainbows > Amnesiac > The Bends > The King of Limbs > Hail to the Thief > Pablo Honey

Timothy: I find it interesting how OK Computer and Kid A were your favorite albums and yet Hail to the Thief was your second least favorite.

I haven't listened to Hail to the Thief in a while, so my opinion isn't the most informed at the moment. From what I remember, the songwriting was solid for the most part, but the album was a little bloated and some of the songs sounded half-baked. I'll give it another go sometime soon, though.

Ah wow, HTTT is probably my favorite album of theirs if you put me on the spot. Maybe it is a little too long, but most of my Favorited tracks are on it so that's probably why,.

Anyway, back to the RH/CP debate, I'll probably always like RH allot more just because their music is allot darker and downbeat, contrast to CP's more uplifting, upbeat sound as I prefer that type of music overall. If Coldplay suddenly put out a song like "Sail to the moon" or "pyramid song" then consider me interested!

Hail to the Thief is the first album I heard by Radiohead, and it's also my favorite. Second would probably In Rainbows, if we're being honest.

Creep was a gateway song to me, I guess, just like a lot of other fans, but the first album I heard in it'd entirety by them is Kid A and I will always love it. Second fav to me would be either OK Computer or In Rainbows.
