If the band released an entirely done b-side from ATS, that song may be AMAZING based off of how amazing ATS songs were.
    Just saying.

:D maybe I can afford it this time around. And not that this is even relevant but I saw LPU 7 at best buy the other day and its still like 30 bucks despite being like 4 years old lmao

I have a question, I think someone here will know the answer. This has been bugging me ever since 9.0 was released. The old demos included on LPU9/LPUX such as Sad, Stick N Move, Oh No and Coal, how do they sound so good? The Xero tape that has the full demo of Stick N Move with vocals is really bad quality. I highly doubt they had these amazing recordings of those demos back in 1997-1999. Does Mike or the band just re-record how the songs went for the LPU CD? Or are they re-mastered or what?

I just assumed that some of them were remastered or rerecorded...

I guess what Hybrid said is logical, I'll go with that. The band probably listens to the old demos and then just remasters the ones they want to give to us. I bet there are a bunch of awesome stuff they have, I hope we get tons with upcoming LPU releases.

Around 1998/1999, good apple computers were already on the market and some of Mike's MPCs, drum machines and synths that he uses now, are over 10-15 years old (but were brand new back then) so the technology definitely existed at the time.

So the question is; will it be LPU11 or LPUXI?

Easy. We only have the 4-track Xero demo in cassette-sourced format. The ones that were released on the LPU CDs were probably digitally transferred from the original recordings, so they don't have that degenerated quality that you get when you record to cassette and then transfer that to a computer. Those tracks are all pretty comparable in quality to the other Hybrid Theory-era demos we have...a good example to check out would be the re-recorded version of Rhinestone used in that episode of The Crow. It's not the same recording as the original demo, but it's from the same time period and is way better quality. I'd imagine that the lucky few people who have a copy of the Xero demo would tell you that listening to the tape itself sounds a lot better than listening to rips of it on your computer.

I would actually really love it if LP did a re-release of the original Xero demo on an LPU CD for this reason, based on the other stuff from that time period they've released, it would probably sound MUCH better than what's currently out there.

Seconded, that or just release the original recordings for download since the tape doesn't have Chester. That'd be great!

Also to answer Kathy, Pictureboard DOES exist as a recording. It's been confirmed on several occasions. Whether or not it will ever be released is a totally different story.

I keep thinking that it would be cool if they re-did the Xero tape with Chester and had a better mix on the songs.
