Everything Must Go (8/10) - This is definitely one of the best movies this year, and probably my favorite from Will Ferrell.

Valhalla Rising - I don't know how to feel about this movie. It's by the same director as Drive so I wanted to check it out... Violent as hell, blood, guts and brains all over the place, almost no dialog, creepy atmosphere... It didn't make sense to me but apparently it is full of some crazy metaphors about spirituality and stuff.

Transformers: Dark Of The Moon (7/10) - As a big fan of the series, this is one that I really enjoyed. The battles were insane, and I felt the VFX were top notch throughout the whole film. Obviously the acting wasn't exactly up to par, but that's to be expected with the series, and to be frank, I don't watch Transformers for the acting, but because they are really fun to watch.

    Drive(2011) F

    Horrible

    Abduction(2011) B-

Interesting story but cliche at times. Action scenes aren't too shabby.

    Horrible Bosses(2011) A-

Not your typical story. Funny as hell.

Donnie Darko. God I love that movie.

Anyone else know some great films from around that time? Like 2000, 2001?

    Drive (2011) - 4/5
I really liked the movie. From a visual and thematic stand-point it was dope... very unique blend of 80s asthetics, heist influences, engaging drama, some great suspense and car chases.

I was a little confused about where Gosling's character stood... he just seems so awkward and stiff. But towards the end of the film the smoke cleared up and it made sense. The awkwardness didn't really take away from the movie for me though... I thought Gosling dominated every scene he was in. He's one of those actors who can just come in and steal the show without doing much. Plus the slow-burn direction and music helped with that.

One gripe is that I thought it could've been a little faster. The down times got to me in a few places, especially during the second half, but the movie was visually interesting enough to keep me engaged.

    Drive - 5/5

So glad I went to a theater to see this instead of watching the screener. One of the best movies of the year. Stellar writing and Gosling knocks it out of the park.

    The Rite: 7/10

I'm a big fan of exorcism movies. I shall say, The Exorcist is always the scariest among them all and The Exorcism of Emily Rose has a good plot. This one is in the safer side.

    Friends with Benefits: 7/10

Mila Kunis is definitely hot. I'm just not sure with Justine Timberlake. I would pick Ashton Kutcher though in No Strings Attached(kinda similar movie).

    The Roommate: 6/10

Leighton Meester did improve her acting skills. It's just the storyline is dull and lack of drive.

    Monte Carlo: 5/10

I love Leighton and the Aussie guy. That's all!

    Tron: Legacy 8/10

Effin radical visual experience. The score makes this movie.

I actually just watched this movie this weekend as well. 7.5/10
The plot was okay for the second half, but the score really does make the film.
I spent probably 60% of the time listening to the score instead of watching

Foo Fighters: Back And Forth (9/10) - VH1 had it on last night and it was a great insight in the history of the Foo Fighters. Now I just wish I had it on Blu Ray so I can watch it uncensored and without the commercials.

Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) - 4/5
This is right below X-Men: First Class as my favorite superhero film this year. Setting it in WWII made everything stand out right away. Chris Evans was really good as the Captain. Story, something I was starting to grow tired of in superhero films, was also not your usual deal. It had a very action/adventure feel to it which I enjoyed. One major gripe though... none of the action sequences really stood out to me.

    Batman: Year One (2011) - 1.5/5
I didn't like how it kept going back and forth between Gordon and Batman/Wayne. Story felt very disjointed and there wasn't any clear villain (wtf @ the little Catwoman cameo). Overall it felt like a prologue to an actual story. But I did enjoy the noir feel and the animation.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) - 9/10

Beautifully crafted. I can't believe I didn't see this earlier. Tempted to brand it as my favourite film.

I saw this when I was still in Uni. I love this movie, weird but it made sense.

    NO OTHER WOMAN 9/10

The movie is well crafted from the storyline down to acting skills. Many people would think it's Hollywood like movie. The story is well adapt in real life - MOST(not all) men cheat and all goes sorry for the mistress one because whatever side you tried to put yourself into - you're always be the loser. It's funny to think that I feel sorry for the mistress in this movie.

Coraline on ABC Family. Still as brilliant as I remember, even with my tiny TV screen.

Saw Tintin on Monday which was good fun.

Saw Your Highness a day or two before which was probably one of the most disappointing films I've ever seen.
