Westboro baptist church

So westboro baptist church recently protested a foo fighters/rise against concert. The foos went out and performed a country song (one that I believe is about gay sex XD). It was really cool and all but I'm wondering if it gave them too much publicity. What do you think? I think we shouldn't give them too much attention but at them same time they're so insane no one will side with them anyways. Ad how do you think we should deal with them? Fight back or ignore and hope they'll realize its a lost cause and go home. And as a side note I would just like to say not all of us Christians are like this. Most of us are loving and accepting. So please don't judge us based on these idiots.

In general I don't think they should get this kind of attention...

But THAT, my fellow LPAers, is what we call an epic win. Foo Fighters are fucking awesome, haha. Just saw them 3 days ago. They played the best show I've ever seen.

Replacing the word "gay" with "homo" doesn't make what you said any less derogatory, given the context that you've said it in.
And that kind of language is against the rules. I'm sure many will find this offensive.

 

Logged on, saw Westboro in the recent comments...thinking to myself "What the hell did they do this time?" But all told, this is surprisingly tame for them. Maybe they're losing their touch?

Not to make light of them totally, they are pretty screwy, but those were my honest thoughts.

To be honest, most of us have too much on our plates to even give them a second thought! Let them do their crazy stuff cause I'm not even thinking about them! *shakes head* God loves all of us, even those crazy rugrats of his over there.

 

I have nothing relevant to say, except for giving the Foo Fighters praise for turning the WBC picket into a total farce.

 

I have to praise them too That was pretty good. I can't believe WBC is still going around. You'd think they'd stop by now.. Apparently not.

 

Westboro is clearly demonstrating the concept of Feeding the Trolls. Their weakness is in people ignoring them. Granted, it's a little difficult to do that with them being so infuriating and all. I gotta give props to the Foo Fighters and other cool folks like the counter protesters at Comic Con that one time though. Sometimes the lulz is worth it.

I'm gonna make a left turn here and say that I'm glad Westboro has religious freedom to do what they do. As long as they have their freedoms, we can feel safe knowing ours will be in tact.

Problem: He keeps missing San Francisco... and almost every liberal state in the nation. Funny how he always hits the bible belt.
I think what the LBGT folks need to do is find the safest city on the planet and then create the world's largest party.

The only 'infractioning' going on here is on an old taboo. I thought you liberals would be all for this kind of stuff!

WBC are a group of (incredibly good) lawyers that deliberately provoke people with the intention of hoping somebody does something they can sue for. They have done this successfully several times.

And that's what the WBC does.

 

I'm mad that I did not watch that video earlier!!! That is one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time. I love the Foo Fighters. Anyways, my opinion on this, is that people shouldn't judge anyone on the way they look, their sexuality, their race, or anything like that. Everyone is created equal. I'm not saying I am religious, I'm not, but I don't push my own beliefs on people that are religious at all.

 

I said it before and I'll say it again, gay people on this forum are protected more than pandas and polar bears together. I bet you didn't even watch the video before you started warning him about getting banned. It's people like Jesse who bring the most harm to gay population by whining and complaining about every single little thing.. Makes me think you don't wanna be accepted at all, and wanna be special just because you're gay. If a joke is made at your own expense, just take it like a man and move on.
