Much like the Brad Delson interview we reported recently, an Asian newspaper caught up with a member from Linkin Park in the midst of the band's Southeast Asian tour leg. This time, The Bangkok Post, a newspaper in Thailand, recently got to ask a few questions to Mike Shinoda. In the interview Mike talks about how the band will continue to evolve in their next album, why they departed from their sound after Meteora, and more. Check out an excerpt from the article below: "A lot of Linkin Park fans noticed a change in the style of Linkin Park's music recently. Can you describe the direction the band is headed in and what caused or inspired the band to veer off its usual course?" "When Linkin Park first came out, there was a lot of talk about how you fused different music genres, such as hip-hop and rock, together. Which direction do you see rock music in general taking in the next few years?" "Many critics have described A Thousand Suns as a political album. What's your take on the state of the world now that there seems to be so many problems everywhere?" "Are there any specific issues that inspired you to write your recent songs? For instance, one of the songs deals with nuclear warfare." You can finish reading the interview HERE where Mike talks about the upcoming show in Bangkok, Thailand. In the past week we've seen three different members of Linkin Park show their excitement for the band's next album. Are all of these interviews getting you anxious? How do you think the band will evolve? Let us know by commenting in our forums! Source: Bangkok Post
"there was a point in the concert where all the fans held up signs with the lyrics to the song printed on them." and troll face
This is probably one of the better interviews recently considering A Thousand Suns. You can really tell from this interview how important this album was to the band.
Very interesting bit about that automatic writing. From what I can tell about their choice of subject matter though, I'm getting a little skeptical about Chester's claim that the next album will be more political.
"Their new album, A Thousand Suns, to be released on Sept 14, consists of limitless surprises..." To be released? -.- Good interview, though I wanted to hear what Mike has to say about the next album.
yeah, I kinda got the feeling like it was an old interview only there were more up to date refrences lol
