But the Travis Barker Remix was awesome I didn't really like the lyrics, half were just curse words, but its a great workout song. I'm super pumped for this album, though I was a little dissapointed at Jay saying tracks were scrapped for being to big, because I love heavy production. It was the wrong choice of beat. Both of them are horrible at double timing... it was borderline laughable. THIS is how you're supposed to kill the HAM beat...
Well that's not necessarily true for Jay-Z. Examples - Jigga What, I Can't Get Wit That, The Originators (Jay at 1:30). And Jay has said he doesn't really practice the double-time flow as much. It was particularly off on H.A.M. though. But I felt nothing about that song, beat or lyric-wise. And the other leaked song is kind of lame too.
Yeah I think HOV could double-time if he wanted, maybe he's just older but E-40 is like 43 and can still go off with ease.
Truth. He could release 12 tracks of him and Kanye farting into the mic for 3 minutes straight and it'd go platinum in a week.
then Lil' Wayne would sample it on a song where he pisses on a bitch, and it would go triple gold platinum silver.
Ye might be the douchiest most back-@$$wards person there is, but his production game is top notch. I know he didnt make all the beats on WTT, but you know he put his touches on them all. All of the songs go pretty hard. Jay is alright on em, he's no Em but he's better than Wayne.
I'm about half way through and this is disappointing. I mean, this album was NEVER going to live up to expectations, but even still this is not very good. Half of the tracks feel like nothing more than filler. Welcome to the Jungle? I don't know how they listened to that song in the studio and concluded that it was complete and good enough to include on the album. Edit: Just finished the whole thing. It's not horrible. It's just not the quality a Jay-Z/Kanye collab album should be. It definitely should have remained a short EP like it was originally intended. 1. No Church in the Wild 2. Otis 3. New Day 4. Who Gon Stop Me 5. Murder to Excellence 6. Why I Love You Bonus Track: Made in America That would have kept it short and sweet and left out the filler tracks. Also, I expected Who Gon Stop Me to be garbage, but it's not bad.
Who Gon' Stop Me sampled Flux Pavilion. Thought I'd throw that out there It's not a terrible album, I'll still enjoy a few tracks on it.
Jay kills this entire thing and to be honest, I've never been a big Jay fan. I'm gonna go out and say that even though Em is my number one inspiration. Jay-Z on WTT > Em on BME Em tries too hard with punchlines and Jay-Z kills it with subliminal wordplay and swaaaaaaaaaaag
I don't think this is going to live up to anyone's expectation's (those that were anticipating it, anyway). H.A.M didn't sell me, neither did Otis, but so far I'm on track 8 and it's a fun album. My favorite song is without a doubt Niggas in Paris. Although, the more I listen to Otis, the more it grows on me. It's probably the sample, I'm not sure. Frank Ocean is a beast on this thing, that's fucking awesome. Swag. I see nothing wrong with Welcome to the Jungle, personally. The beat is a little basic, but it's a good song. Haters hatin' for no reason. Although, Swizz Beatz needs to just fuck off to some remote island and never contribute to music again. Getting really sick of that dude.
