South Korea's city, Pyeongchang (NOT PYOUNGYANG, that's in North Korea ) was chosen to host the 2018 winter olympics. this was their third bid. Their first two bids were narrowly defeated by Vancouver, and then Suchi, Russia. They got a landslide vote this time. Here is the article: http://www.thepeninsulaqatar.com/in...south-korean-media-hail-winning-2018-bid.html The Discuss. P.S. The venues are going to be the closest to each other in modern winter olympics history.
I have to wonder if the Olympics in China actually got them good publicity. I wonder this only because I think South Korea deserves some. I have friends who go to South Korea on a regular basis (Non-Korean US citizens), and most people tell them to be careful because Korea is dangerous for Americans, not realizing, of course, there are two Koreas.
Eeh, they probably will. I mean, the venues are so close to each other, and s korea is known for welcoming citizens (but there are exceptions, just like every other country out there).
^ I fucking love that movie. And to make sure I have something relevant to the topic... good for South Korea
