The Linkin Park Association Version 4.5 Is Here!

Hello everybody, and welcome to version 4.5 of The Linkin Park Association! When we first began work on Version 4.5 in October of 2010 (shortly after the release of A Thousand Suns), we got together as a staff and tried to figure out how we could make LPA 4.5 not only just a simple redesign, but also the best possible version of LPAssociation.com to date, paying tribute to our 10 years of service as a Linkin Park fansite.

One of our first intentions in rebuilding LPA 4 was to completely overhaul our original tour page from the ground up. Relaunched in late 2010, our new Tour Page is designed to be a complete and total rethinking of the way we used to do our tour coverage, providing users with a fully interactive live database where users can upload their own images and videos from tour dates they have gone to in the past, sharing their experiences with Linkin Park fans across the globe. Currently the new version of the tour page has been up for the entire A Thousand Suns world tour, but as it stands LPA 4 remained relatively untouched. Until now.

With the new design we wanted to prioritize the Linkin Park Association's key features into an intuitive UI that will allow the viewer to navigate the user dependant sections a lot easier. The accordion effect featured section currently includes our LPA Tour Page, LPA Gallery, LPA Wiki Page and LPA Store. These will be updated in real time with the latest Tour Dates, Gallery uploads, the latest edited articles in the Wiki and added items to our store. This means that any content YOU submit via our tour page or edit in our Wiki, will be displayed prominently on the front page, as well as all the latest updates we interject of our own. The Wiki is a fledgling project that depends on YOUR submissions to thrive, so please check it out and update articles as you see fit!

One of our key motivations in redesigning the LPA wasn't only cosmetic, we also wanted to completely update all relevant sections with site content. If you browse the sections featured in our navigation bar, you will find an updated discography which is comprehensive, easy to navigate and up to date. We have also rebuilt our media section to include a rare and substantial list of audio files which will be continually added to, as well as our podcasts which are all available to download at your leisure.

We also wanted to synchronize all aspects of the LPA community with our new site design, so we have created a new 4.5 forum skin for The LPA Forums which you can manually change from the bottom left hand corner of the forum index by choosing LPA 4.5 in the skin selector, we also have made refreshing changes to our Twitter, YouTube and Facebook profile pages which have been modified to match the visual aesthetics of the site, providing a more streamlined feel whilst navigating every aspect of the LPAssociation.

This is only a glance at what's new in LPA 4.5. There's so much more integrated within the site such as news tags, guitar tabs for every Linkin Park release, media downloads, updated biography and band pages, discography / release synchronicity and much more to come. Please feel free to explore the site, see what's new and let us know if there's something else you'd like to see on the site by using the "Contact Us" section in the LPA dropdown navigation bar.

For the record, we have launched a new forum skin. For most of you it should show up by default, if it doesn't (and you're still seeing an old design) select "LPA 4.5" from the drop down menu at the bottom of the forum to use it!
