So far this sounds like the album that should have proceeded Ascendancy, which was by a large margin their best album. It's good that they recognise that and have gone back to their old style while taking what limited positive elements from their previous two albums there are with them. Nick Augusto seems to be an excellent replacement for Travis Smith on Drums aswell. Roll on August 9th!
It sounds better than a lot of their last album or two, but I think I just don't really like this kind of music much anymore.
I feel the same. As much as Dusk Dismantled is heavy as fark and the vocals are br00tal, it just bores me now. That said, In Waves has a pretty cool groove to it, something almost nu-metal vibe about it (despite the fact that it obviously isn't)
I'm a fan of Trivium, and thought that Shogun was pretty ace, I'm not really into the song In Waves much.
