New video from Rise Against for their song "Make It Stop." This video has an incredibly powerful message equal to the message in the song. Watching this gave me chills. Please give it a watch.
I nearly cried. I didn't realize this song was about homosexual rights until I decided to look up what the names were in the bridge. This is definitely one of my top songs of 2011 and one of the best music videos I've seen in a long, long time. I applaud Rise Against for writing a song that no one else seems to want to write (although I can't say for sure there aren't more out there).
Before I looked up the names of the kids, I got a hint from the line "Too much blood has flown from the wrists of the children shamed for those they chose to kiss." None the less, the song is written in a way that it can be applied to every aspect of bullying. Maybe it was because I was a victim of it my whole k-12 student career, but I do feel that no matter what reason bullying is happening, it needs to stop.
Their lead singer, Tim really uses his Degree in English. The lyrics he writes (assuming you agree with them) can be very meaningful and emotionally powerful.
I love Rise Against, and I get what they're doing and all, but I'm not going to lie; the song and video are corny as shit.
This video actually fits in line with alot of the videos that they put out. The lyrics have a message and the video portrays that same message and strengthens it. It's alright though if you don't like it... Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
I love the video. First time I saw it I nearly cried. This and the ready to fall video may be their best so far. The video emphasizes the message of the song so well. Saw them live this year in March and yes they were amazing. I'll probably see them again in Summer.
