No, something spectacularly normal is the last thing you should show a person tripping balls on acid. Like, "Friday".
What's funny is I'm pretty sure this is considered just another music style in Japan. I've heard a few Japanese metal bands who do this exact same thing, but this is the first time I've heard it done as almost exclusively electronic. Not going to comment on whether it's music or noise... but obviously there's an audience for this type of sound somewhere out there. All I know is that that video made me extremely dizzy afterwards.
Emm, well, actually, there's an audience for this type of sound (and this band in particular) in Japan. Proof: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7nAKrQAOKk All I'm saying is ...WTF
People still buy Good Charlotte records, I'm pretty sure that's on the same WTF level as people enjoying this type of music (KRAY-ZEE I KNOW!)
ah, i was scared to watch that, since i saw that thing earlier this week, i got bold enough to listen to a few of it, that is definately noise i did heard rock and techno in it. i was hoping to hear some rocking chords in it but it looks like nope. i decided to watch the full thing to mention insight. ohh the lyrics i heard: ah!!! break stuff, huhhh!!! :ll with tons of repeats by a lyrical prospective.
Well let's see. It has a time signature, a distinct beat, and there is... well kind of a sstucture.... yeah its noisy music all right.
THE LAYERS, MAAN. The noise vs. music argument is stupid, because if you enjoy noise (or power electronics, drone, cybergrind, powerviolence and so on) you're not going to care whether it's music or not. Only people who think "oh no it's offending to my ears!" go out of their way to denounce it as "not music". Stop liking what I don't like etc.
Damn, I actually like that when it's on a really, really low volume. Kind of like white noise with a special flavor mixed in.
Yeah, that's like some Pandora's-Box-type shit. Music to listen to while being disemboweled and skullfucked by a winged demon.
...That came out decades ago dude. Ottoman Black is probably one of the only real enjoyable "harsh" noise albums, only goes for 34 minutes and has some nice ambient/drone parts as well. Fair bit more dynamic contrast then all the japanoise merzbow/masonna shit. Worth checking out Yellow Swans and Burning Star Core as well for lighter, drone-ier noisical expression.
