So I found out a few days ago that season seven has now been confirmed for Supernatural and that the season finale of season six will be a cliffhanger, leaving ample opportunity for season seven to kick off.

For the people who haven't yet caught up, or at least where I am, which is a few episodes behind everyone else in the states, in season six, we are introduced to several new characters like Samuel, the Winchester brother's grandfather (to how he is still alive by being killed by Azazel in the 70s makes me wonder how he's still alive as explored in season 3) and Eve (also known as Pergutory (sp?)), several reoccurring characters like Rufus, and a newly introduced from season five, Crowley who is now King of Hell, and season six also begged the question, who let Sam out of hell?

We also see a side of Castiel that we haven't seen before, the fact that he's now scheming human souls for his side against the heavenly war taking place by manipulating certain past events in order to save lives, with of coarse, his trusty side kick Balthazar.

What makes me wonder about the oncoming season is the fact that after what Castiel is doing, and since Castiel hasn't become real popular with the audience until as of lately, are they going to keep him on as a character in season seven if he's continuing to farm human souls for his purposes? Mind you, I do think and I do have my theories of how he has become an arch angel, since the death of Zachariah in the last season, and since Gabriel (also in witness protection form as a Loki) perished at the hands of his brother Lucifer, whilst the remaining arch angel, Michael, is currently raging war against Castiel and whoever follows him. He's a big and different person to what he was when first introduced at the beginning of Season 3.

Even the brotherly dynamic between Dean and Sam have changed. I know at the beginning of season six was rather slow and tedious, and that everyone I basically spoke to about season six said that Dean was a whingy and emo bitch and that he should get over it, but I do prefer to take Dean's side rather Sam's. The brother you had to toss into the Devil's cage, and presumed dead, is somewhat alive. Terrifying? Confusing? I sure as hell would be. Sam's personality changes way too often for my liking, one day he's happy as hell the next he's being played for a fool by a demon. Call me stupid but he was indeed quite blind to what Ruby was doing to him and that Castiel and Dean were trying to make him see.

    Bah that's my rant.

Supernatural has jumped the shark. Used to be my favorite show, but now they are just writing stuff for the sake of it. Characters are doing uncharacteristic things, the plot sucks, the humor is getting worse. After watching the finale I feel a little upset knowing that I'll probably never see anymore good episodes with Sam or Dean. Both of their characters suck now. Bobby has been the only consistently written character in the show.

Sam's character in general upsets me. I hate how shows give all this power to someone and then take it away and make them weak and pathetic when it's totally not in their character to be that way. The same thing happened to Heroes when that show started to suck after season 1.

And Dean has been a bitch for the last 2 seasons. He doesn't think logically and just tells people to do things "because we're family", as if that should just trump the most logical choice.

SPOILERS AHEAD. I havent watched SPN ihn a while with the excecption of the final and I gotta say, this season has been a major decline frbom past seasons. The cliffhanger with Cass was just, it's dumb, Oh, okay I'm God worship me? So becoming a god apparently causes amnesia and turns you into a total prick. Right. Extremely out of character, and even though I havent watched any other episobde since the one where he was killed in the "real life" universe, its still completely insane. Deans a fucking moron, seriously.

Now Im sure the switch to another show runner has a lot to do with it but I feel eriuc needs 100% control. Other than that its becoming really redundant, i mean it could have ended afterv bthe apocolypse like it was supposed to.. anyway we will see if it gets better. Overall season six has been the worst, seasohn three the best. On mobile. Sorry for the typos

Well you needed to watch the episodes leading up to the season finale rather than the finale itself. It made so much sense the finale. Shocker? Yes.

Who I felt sorry for was Cass at the end of the day. He had become so loyal and almost family to Dean, and intended no harm to either Lisa or Sam, or anyone, when the door was open, he only wanted what he felt like he needed to win the war against Raphael. Dean turned his back on Cass, and I feel no remorse for Dean or the Good Will gang whatsoever. Cass was overwhelmed with despair and hurt when Dean turned his back on him, throughout everything, Cass has always been there to save his backside and as for working with Crowley? As I recall correctly Sam worked with Ruby and even Dean worked with Crowley in order to get his brother's soul back, so what makes it so wrong if Cass should do it? Cass had become an entity driven by power as he was always suppressed by other angels and doubted by even Rachel that he could win the heavenly war. He even killed Balthazar who was "the Judus amongst us". All he wanted from Crowley was the protection of the Brothers.

And as for amnesia Jesse, I believe there was no amnesia. Cass knowingly did it.

    LOL.

My opinion: The show should have never gone past season 5. I loved the ending to the last episode of season 5 and they should have let it be. Well, except erase the part of Sam coming back from hell and then end it. I would have been satisfied. Now it seems like they're grasping at straws to try and stretch this show out. I'll continue to watch it but it's nowhere near as good as it used to be, which is sad.

I kinda agree and disagree at the same time. Some episodes of Season Six were like "what the -" and an obvious push to fill time and space (i.e. the reintroduction of Samuel - to why they had to cast Mitch Peliggi as him I am still wondering), but some where the opposite.
I especially found the Titanic episode quite amusing.
But I think Supernatural has always been like that in every season.
Cass's revelation to being a creature of Pergutory will only give the writers more to write about and play on. I mean, look at Smallville, the last time I heard it was in it's tenth season.
