I just started watching the show, well, The reboot series. I'm now on episode 3, trying to catch up...
I should warn you, it's back on air on Saturday so if you're sticking with it there's probably going to be a lot of spoilers in this thread for the next month or two.
Is there actually a deep episode to episode storyline with this, where one would have to start with the first episode of the first season if they started watching this series? I've been thinking about getting into this. Or could I just jump in wherever?
Since it got brought back there's normally been an over-arching plot that lasts at least a season, and then elements from one year sometimes become important again a year or two down the line. Right now, the plot of the upcoming episodes carries on from last year. If you start from the 2005 season which is the first after it was brought back, you'll learn more or less everything that's still relevant. There's either that, or if you want to get up to speed with the current plot as soon as possible you can start with the most recent one. There was a new production team, and pretty much a new cast and plot. That, and in my opinion it's the best.
My boyfriend is obsesssssed with this show. I like it too but I need to watch it from season one again because when I watched it I watched all the episodes in a very random order since he was making me watch it whenever I went to see him. I may tune in for it tomorrow night though. I like the new Doctor but I still prefer David Tennant.
My god, one hell of an episode. The first 10 minutes were already blowing me away. I'm betting it was River in the astronaut suit who shot the Doctor.
The child = Amy's child = River That's a complete stab in the dark, or at least the last part is, but the more this plot goes on the more I become open to theories like that haha.
Your theory blew my mind Dean! This new episode was AMAZING. I agree with Shadey I think it was River in the Astronaut suit. I think she killed The Doctor and that's what she went to prison for.
