The thing is, they have the internet and mobile phones and things like that, so it's probably not that time-consuming for them to be interviewed. And when it comes to LPTV and that sort of thing they probably just film themselves every now and then or have crew members following them with cameras, and other people who edit it and upload it, so for one it's probably not very physically demanding for them. It's just one of those things where you can take it on face value and say they're trying to be media-savvy in an age that pretty much calls for it, or you could be cynical without any real reason to be and say they're being far too image conscious.
Dean, you're right. See: Mark Fiore. I'm sure he's in the Wiki somewhere. Also, they have Adam upload photos on and update the facebook pages. They have promotion people on board for a reason: Because the fans like to see the behind the scenes stuff. It is interesting. If you don't think so, you can live with that or just not watch it. I get it, other bands dont do it, but since when was Linkin Park like other bands? I think the relationship with the fans is really important. The more the fans are in tune with what the band's doing, the more attention the band will get from the fans. To cut them out of the picture would be like cutting your own life line. Furthermore, I highly doubt it hinders on production of their work - just for the sole purpose of what Dean eluded to. It doesn't take alot of time.
