Click Here to check out a really good interview with Stone Sour/Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor. In the video he talks about the future of Slipknot, the state of the music industry, touring with Stone Sour, and gives a very strong hint that he could potentially be the new vocalist of Velvet Revolver.

I think the end could be nigh for Slipknot. The way he was talking about the band in the past tense was a pretty big give away that he's not interested in continuing the band without Paul. Also, I'm really eager to see if anything comes of these rumours that Corey's going to be the new vocalist of Velvet Revolver. I'd certainly want to see any live show that features Corey and Slash on the same stage.

I just can't see him with Velvet Revolver, as much as he's an amazing frontman.
But hey, I just want Scott back

I don't really care for Velvet Revolver and I didn't like the most recent Slipknot album, so if it were up to me he'd probably just concentrate on Stone Sour.

He seems to not want anything to do with Slipknot anymore, And i love Slipknot and I think Stone Sour is pretty cool. But to me Joining Velvet Revolver = end of Slipknot. :ohno:

Slipknot seemed pretty ridiculously terrible from what I can recall of them, so anything but that is probably a set up, even if I don't really care for either of these bands either.

slipknot & stonesour are beginning to sound like the same band nowadays, and neither are particularly interesting me like they used to. good front man, it just seems he's becoming somewhat irrelevant; but, fuck, velvet revolver's all about nostalgia, i suppose.

& casey: i heard a few tunes, gotta admit, they were pretty fun.

Have you even heard the new Stone Sour album?

Although I'll admit there were a few songs on All Hope Is Gone that could easily pass for Stone Sour songs.

Well they have shows booked for the summer so SOMEONE is interested with doing Slipknot still. I hope Slipknot stays. I'd much rather have them than Stone Sour

Kind of hard to imagine Corey Taylor singing in a cock-rock band.

I'm a really big fan of slipknot and i hate this time right now because Corey is like ''I dont know we are going on tour but not make an album in the near future'' and joey is like ''Yeah Slipknot will continue and make tour and maybe a new album because Slipknot is my life'' so i dont blame Corey but he's is saying that he is the only one who cares about Paul's dead even though that paul was joey's best friend and corey first met Paul when the nine started so and Joey is like more positive but i hope they will continue because i really cant live without Slipknot

Yeah, I love Corey Taylor but he makes it seem like he dictates what Slipknot does. There are 7 other people in the band and I think they should have a say as well. I think everyone but Corey, and maybe James, are eager to continue with Slipknot. I want them to write another album. I look forward to it. Hopefully things work out and Slipknot keeps going strong. They are my 2nd favorite band next to Linkin Park and I'd be deeply upset if they were to call it quits.

Longest. Sentence. EVAR! :teehee:(sorry):teehee: I like Stone Sour more than Slipknot. I think Slipknot kinda hit a plateau musically and it's hard for the band to move on without sounding the same as their previous releases. I think a band like Stone Sour has a better chance of a future creatively because they dont have the 'you have to sound this way' weight on their shoulders. Anyways... It's also kinda hard to imagine Velvet Revolver without Scott. Eitherway, we'll see what happens.

I don't think Slipknot has to stick to a particular sound at all. All Hope Is Gone was a HUGE departure from old slipknot and Vol 3 was a pretty big departure as well.

I agree with you, but try telling that to the harcore self proclaimed 'metalheads' that live around me. I've heard so much hate towards that band since Vol. 3 which is what made me put that reply.

Well just because people don't like their new direction doesn't mean they have to stick to that sound. I love the new direction and personally I like it more then the old stuff. They are gaining more fans because now they aren't just an angry, aggressive band that talks about how much life sucks and how they hate people. That was fine too but I think the new stuff is better. IMO

I agree with you on that, however, I guess I just like Stone Sour more than Slipknot. :p
