I agree with this. Booing Fred Durst off the stage at Summer Sanitarium was definately a highlight of the show!
I saw the unedited version and then I saw this. I have to say when you agree with me, Winchester, it's kinda scary since a majority of our encounters we're on opposing sides There needs to be more options on this poll.
When I got to listen to ATS at Warner Bros Records 2 weeks before it came out management told us LP had no outside influence or pressure for writing the album. It was all them or management was fucking with us. I'm pretty sure LP had complete creative control, I mean shit it took 2 years to make, all that studio time is fucking expensive.
Just curious, but how were you able to do that? Do you work there or know someone who does? Either way that's cool.
If I remember right a few select people got accepted to listening parties for ATS before it came out. My guess is he was part of that.
I totally agree, whatever percentage LP Reanimation was, it was the only 'album' LP produced that touched HT EP concerning creativity. Now with ATS, I think they are getting closer to it again. In a 100 points I would say this: 1. HT EP: 50 pts (2. REANI: 45 pts) 3. ATS: 30 pts 4. HT: 25 pts 5. MTM: 20 pts 6. Meteora: 15 pts I tend to HT beeing more mainstream and Meteora even more. But to ATS is more extreme to me by sometimes straying far away from mainstream and sometimes getting closer than ever before like on BITS and Irid.
He calles HT EP and Reanimation as the pinnacle of LP creativity. I would have used "<" instead of ">" but so what.
1996_LP put their studio albums plus Reanimation and HTEP in order from what is least creative to what's most creative in his opinion. So the order is pretty much the same as OS Neutral's. I don't think HTEP is that high up in that respect though, definitely not in comparison to their other releases. From memory it's not a great deal different to stuff they did on their first two actual albums or as Xero. Even And One isn't, besides the rap at the end.
Well personally I think it is very creative in many respects, the lyrics, riffs, bass-lines are all more unique. Basically it just sounds to me like a less-mainstream HT. Though maybe I'm bias' as its probably the Ep's production accounts to that, but anywhoo
The bass lines aren't anything special, mostly root notes. Unless you're seeing something I can't, in which case let me know.
I know, right? Who gives a shit. If you like the music, you like it. Who cares how "mainstream" something is.
