To be quite honest, the more I listen to ATS, the more flaws I discover. They're 5th album is going to be fucking insane, no doubt.

I'm guessing more of an ATS 2 with Meteora Theory sprinkled in. Despite all the talk of "CATCH UP MOTHERFUCKAAAAAAAAA" from them I highly doubt they've completely dismissed the idea of shoring up their bets with a bit of a more "reliable" album.

It might only mean 2 or 3 songs, and it won't be a complete retreat from this new brand of spaz-rock they got going on, but I'm pretty sure when this new album comes out they'll talk about how there's 'something for everyone' on it.

I wouldn't mind it. 2 or 3 songs that are a "spiced up version of Hybrid Theory" would be awesome.

No. No more HT-MT style songs. BIO, GU, W&K, NMS is enough. Time to completely move on from that imo.

    Yeah.

No more BITS/Iridescent/all of M2M kind of songs either. Even though I love BITS/Iridescent and a lot of M2M, they're songs that other bands could easily right. I want them to make songs that only they can make....but not anything like Hybrid Theory/Meteora. That's just me.

I wouldn't mind more songs like Iridescent or Burning in the Skies as long as they don't have a conventional chorus. I love the "Damning" sound of those songs in the verses and think an entirely dark song would sound very nice.

haha. I'm a sucker for dark shit.

yeah that's true. Another 4 year wait seems implausible now that Linkin Park isn't restrictive on what kind of music is allowed on their albums. The Fort Minor/DBS being split into separate projects probably taught them that lesson: that they have a lot of unexplored territory that they rather cover than write HT over and over. And now LP don't have an excuse to split their projects up like they did before.

I also like that too. Blackbirds and New Divide, even though I wasn't really into those songs that much, helped make the wait a whole ton easier.

    Also, puzzles. I love puzzles.

I'm all excited for the Fifth album and all, but I was banking on there being a Projekt Revolution this year, since their trip to San Jose tomorrow is REALLY badly timed for me. T_T Now I are sadsauce.

And i really don't care what's on the 5th album as long as I like it. That's basically what it comes down to with me. I wonder though, if they're tired of making loud music for the first two albums, then they may be tired of making soft music for these past two albums. Maybe then they'll write whatever's good sounding instead XD.

Hopefully they get back in there and do something great. Maybe an album by next year? That would be nice.

    Yes, this is epic news!
Looks like there still on a creative roll. I have a feeling I'll like LP5 even more than ATS. Just a feeling though :)

it really isn't. it's just asking for another LP album that isn't a carbon copy of themselves or others.

To be honest I think W&K is the only song in that list that actually sounds like something from the earlier two. Anyway I'm not at all against the idea of an album with "something for everyone." That way they can keep their mainstream audience placated, pull out some of the stuff everyone loved from the changeover era, and continue to push their experiments. Sounds like a win/win to me.

I'd much rather they pull a Beatles and start becoming unbelievably experimental, even if people don't like it.

They did "something for everyone" on their first 3 albums. Now it's time for them to do something for themselves :).
