"Burning In The Skies" Video Premiere!

It reminded me of the Where The Wild Things Are film, haha.

It's like people were ranting LP about no storyline back then and now the guys give a huge 'check this sucker!' back.

oh dear I need explanations to the video, can't really keep my cool now.

It's the last activities of some people before they get caught in the blast radius of what I'm guessing is a nuclear explosion.

When WFTE video comes out: WTF, no storyline, this is random
And then BITS: WTF, where is the band, we need the band....
What?

It looks like an anti-matter or proton collision explosion than a nuclear bomb.

 

Because it wasn't an atomic bomb. It was clearly Dr. Manhattan's reactor from Watchmen

I don't know what to make of the video yet. Someone bring Nathan Karma Cox back.

He means come on. As in, "Did she just come on to you?" or, "Minus, did you really just come on my mother?"

I enjoyed the video. Joe's interpretation of the three singles put together make for a pretty sick viewing.

EDIT: And I believe the worst LP video award goes to Somewhere I Belong.

 

Ha, I would rather put One Step Closer video on the throne.

 

Well, though I can't understand the video AT ALL.. I think the visual is still great after all. That xtremely slow motion and the explosion do make sense. Joe is an artist instead of a so-called director. Well I have always been wondering what the hell is going inside Joe's mind because I mean, his taste in art blah blah is really different. And his video goes in this routine too. Would love to see it in HD to see how it turns out.

Joe's interpretation is SPOT on. And I can now say I love this video.

Also, I mean, what happened to all the people who wanted one huge video of ATS? This is the next best thing. It turns out there's one huge video of all the singles (excluding wtfe live fanmade) and you just have to put them together.

Wow, that music video is great. I like the contrast between these diffrent feelings, emotions and expectations which is simply created by illustrating divers people in diffrent life situations. I love it !

 

i watched the video 5 times.
and i wish that these things will not happen in reality.
it's really sad how all these people die and also the boy and the girl in the car died while they were kissing!

Joe will have to come up with a way to connect all the music videos from ATS together and make it a short movie. I guess even a 20-sec clip between each one could help.

 

Okay now since I've calmed down (a bit), let me get this straight.

The 3 music videos definitely have some threads connecting each other, LP in BITS video looks as if they are extracts from WFTE video.
If the 3 vids are to be put in a sequence, I think it should be Burning In The Skies -> Waiting For The End -> The Catalyst
The band members in all 3 videos appears as if they are souls living outside of the world, gazing upon people, humanity.
One thing to note is that this sequence is actually the sequence on the record.

In BITS, they sing of regrets, reflections, their loss etc. *The end drawing near
'I'm swimming in the smoke / of bridges I have burned. So don't apologize / I'm losing what I don't deserve'
'And in the end we were made to be apart. Like separate chambers of the human heart'

In WFTE, they sing about how they feel about *the end coming towards them.
'Waiting for the end to come, wish I had the strength to stand...All I wanna do is trade this life for something new...The hardest part of ending is starting again'

In TC, they speak to God, looking for saviors to humanity. *Aftermath
'God bless us every one We're a broken people living under loaded gun'
'God save us every one Will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns'

Other interesting facts I found about the lyrics:
BITS 'I used the deadwood to make the fire rise' ---------- WFTE 'What was left when that fire was gone'

One more thing, at the end of BITS video, the spilling water slowed down to still, which reminds me of the 'still rotating' WFTE video.

PS: Is it just me or the video looks as if it is filmed with 3D technology?
