    He was talking about Albums in general as opposed to singles which are all the rage now. He meant he doesn't want to see album making die because labels want the artists to focus on making song aimed at being singles.

    I think the whole "albums dying" thing is why a lot of bands are starting to turn more towards more EPs. Both Massive Attack and Radiohead have both said they might try to focus on putting EPs out more often instead of *album-wait a couple years-album*

    It seems logical enough because it better satisfies the quick-fix mentality of people now-a-days, but can still keep a semblance of being a full album.

    I'd actually have no problem with bands releasing a 6-track EP every year and a half instead of a full album every 3 years.
