What do you want to hear in Linkin Park's 5th album?

I kinda hope Warner makes them. Then LP should just quickfire like 4 stock albums out in 1 year just so they meet their terms in their contract and be free of Warner to make what they want for the rest of their lives.

 

When does there contract end? I always thought it was just a 10 year contract. For someone who didnt think the band was gonna be successful they are holding on to them for a long time

 

It is long. Maybe they extended the contract? We'll never know.

 

Oh the label does, you can be sure of that. Not necessarily HT, but simpler, shorter, hookier songs that are "perfect for radioplay". But the only way they can force LP to do it is if LP allow themselves to be forced, if you get me. The major difference between Meteora & ATS is for one the band caved to pressure to write it a certain way and the other they said "no, we're going to do this our way". I don't see them going back to the former.

I really hope not. Intentionally releasing shitty albums isn't good for your career.

I'd guess they have a quota for album releases that they have to meet. Like 4 albums of original material (live albums & fanclub EP's wouldn't count) and the contract is finished or renegotiated.

I kinda like it/kinda don't. It would be fine if them one like it as a single, but please lord no, don't put one like that in an album.

 

Yeah Valentine's Day wasn't good either but for me it was tolerable. TLTGYA I couldn't get into aswell, these three songs I never listen to. It was a shame because MTM I feel is a great album, it was let down by these

 

M2M was just... Put down by In Between, TLTGYA, and Valentines Day.. They probably should have stuck with the theme of the other songs. My opinion.

 

I actually Like Valentines Day dunno why this song gets so much hate, TLTGYA is one of my favorites on the album. Now In Between i never really liked that song.

 

I wouldn't mind hearing something a bit more along the lines of the stripped down sounds of Minutes to Midnight. Just finished listening to "The Little Things Give You Away," and was def immersed in an experience.

If they continue to stay away from nu-metal, I'd enjoy a M2M vibe as opposed to ATS which seems a bit mechanical in nature.

 

I heard the beginning to In Between for the first time and was just like... 'WTF?!?'

 

In Between is a okay song when listening to the full album.

 

I love valentine's day. Don't judge me XD It's just that I love the lyrics; its about loneliness and abandonment which I personally can really relate to.
I love The little things give you away as well. Esp. the outro. The 3 part vocal is amazing imo.

In between is okay. I don't really like mike's vocals on that track (although I love his vocals on basically everything else), and i found it to be a little too repetitive and simple. However i love the lyrics.

 

In Between and Valentine's Day always get a lot of hate. In my opinion, Given Up brings the album down.
