Not sure to post it here or in Linkin Park Chat, but still: http://mikeshinoda.com/2010/12/29/best-songs-of-2010/ Mike loves Arcade Fire, Mumford & Sons, and Vampire Weekend? and #1 is
I hate when people pick random songs by random bands and say they're good. There's no way Mike can listen to all that unknown stuff while being a full-time musician in the biggest rock band in the world. Where does he have the time to search for all that?
The man has free time you know. For instance, they aren't touring or recording for the next 20 days. Just sayin.
Which will most likely be spent practicing BITS, Blackout, and Robot Boy, as well as the rest of their songs, hopefully.
That song was disturbing LOL It's great to see King Fantastic on the list though. His debut album is dope.
I'm starting to sort of agree with Travz12's first comment. These are such weird songs. How can he not like an Eminem song or something?
Eminem isn't a good example LOL Recovery is a good album, but none of them, no matter what Billboard puts up, is top 10 material. Also, some of these tracks Mike has posted on his blog in the past or LP has collaborated with.
I think half were jokes and half were serious. That Earl song is ridiculous. Simplistic and terrible. Not sure how anyone could admire that song in any way.
Now we're off topic, but I disagree with the Eminem comment. Not Afraid is a damn good song IMO. No Love and Love the way you lie aren't that good I suppose, but I thought Recovery had some other good songs like Space Bound and Seduction.
Yeah, but if you listen to the lyrics in general, a lot of it is bashing his previous album Relapse, and talking about his best friend (Proof) who died. A couple songs about that would have been fine, but it lingered throughout the whole damn album. Plus, if he hates Relapse as much as he claims, then why did he release it to begin with?
lol yup love those 3 songs so much ♥ and i never heard off those songs^^ doesnt matter to me anyway all i wanna hear is LP<3
Dude he buys like every single CD released as they come out or something. He gets 30 albums a month, and he's probably way past that 35 days of music mark he hit last year. I don't know how the hell he listens to all of it though The amount of time he spends traveling is probably vastly underestimated. In 10 years i could see myself listening to such weird songs too.... mainstream music gets old.
I'd have thought that since they invited Pendulum to tour with them that at least one song off of Immersion would have made the list.
Wat. Royal Bangs - okay, pretty boring Tyler, The Creator - pretty sweet Vampire Weekend - don't care King Fantastic - pretty good Arcade Fire - don't care Earl Sweetshirt - pretty shit, not as good as his brother Tyler up there. Video's funny though. Get Busy Committee - as uninteresting as most things involving apathy, style of beyond etc. okay though. Mumford & Songs - worst LCD Soundsystem - don't care The Books - true genius The "just picking random songs" argument isn't valid - all he's picked are songs from popular indie bands, local rappers from where he lives (?), project from people he's worked with before, and a youtube clip a friend probably linked him (The Books). Can't explain King Fantastic, but I think I've proved my point well enough...
