RECHARGED is Linkin Park's second remix album, following the 2002 release of Reanimation. The album features reinterpretations of songs from the band's fifth studio release, LIVING THINGS, and includes remixes from the likes of Linkin Park's very own Mike Shinoda, Rick Rubin, Pusha T, Dirtyphonics, Bun B, Tom Swoon, Datsik, Money Mark, and many more. RECHARGED also includes an original collaboration with electro house musician Steve Aoki on the new song "A LIGHT THAT NEVER COMES".
The album as a whole has a noticeable leaning towards electronic dance music and dubstep influences, prompting fans to wonder if this is a direction Linkin Park may go with their future musical efforts. Mike Shinoda described the album as "indicative of [Linkin Park]'s commitment to experimentation and pushing boundaries." RECHARGED was released on October 29th, 2013 and debuted at #10 on the Billboard Top 200, selling 33,000 copies in its first week.
