Linkin Park plays another release show for One More Light! This time returning to iHeartRadio and live streaming it,
in a show that was announced just a few days ago!

So since there is so much history with Linkin Park playing in California, and almost the same amount of history with playing in LA, let's just talk about their history of playing iHeartRadio shows. Their first one came in September of 2012 when they played the iHeartRadio Music Festival. This set was shortened down significantly, only being 39 minutes in length. This caused the band to shorten and move songs around. Shortened songs included In The End, Bleed It Out, Waiting for the End, and What I've Done. In The End opened the show, with Mike playing the piano intro on his keyboard instead of Mr. Hahn doing it the way he usually does. There's a video of this down below for your enjoyment. In 2014 the band decided to have their album release party with iHeartRadio and stream it. While it was also a shortened set it was still longer than the one in 2012, this time clocking in at 59 minutes. You have probably heard about this show before, it's the one where Brad decided to go to the bathroom when the host of the show came up on stage to interview the band after What I've Done. Yup ... that happened. Once again, video of this is below.

The latest show the band played was in Las Vegas for the first release show for One More Light. This show featured the full 25 song headlining set. The band once again dedicated One More Light to their recently deceased friend Chris Cornell, much like they did at the Jimmy Kimmel Live performance, the day before. The band added some sing-along of the Depeche Mode song Strangelove to the bridge of Bleed It Out. The show was apparently crazy, with the whole venue literally bouncing, causing Chester to comment on it. On Facebook there was a stream, showing part of Battle Symphony, all of Lost In The Echo, and all of Good Goodbye. They also streamed part of the Bleed It Out bridge on Depeche Modes Facebook page. Only the Bleed It Out video was archived so we can't show you the other video ... because it's gone.

This is the last performance in the US for a few months, after this the band heads out on a European tour, mixing festival shows and headlining ones. As for what we can expect from this show, most likely a headlining set. However, if we look at their iHeartRadio history of shortening sets, maybe we can see one similar to the Jimmy Kimmel Live performance, of all the currently played One More Light songs, and just a few older ones. Maybe we can even get the full album played by the band. It's all just speculation, we won't know until the show is over. Thankfully though, the show is being streamed live! And it's being streamed on YouTube, so you can use the built in reminder function to make sure you don't miss it. A link to it is below.

Like I said, the band heads out on a European tour, starting on June 9 in France at the Download Festival! After that they have 17 more dates, taking them back to countries like Prague, Sweden (fuck yeah!), England, Italy, Poland, Spain and Germany. For the full tour schedule, check out our tour section. Eighteenth (!) time Linkin Park
is performing in Las Vegas tonight!

Well there we have it folks, the day we've been waiting for since the album was announced back in February has finally arrived. Linkin Park's new album "One More Light" hits the shelves, digital distributors and streaming services today, May 19th. As this is a special occasion, it's only right for the band to play a special album release show, and they will be doing exactly that on the Las Vegas Strip at "The Chelsea".

Since I'm not about to go through all the seventeen shows the band has played in Vegas so far, let's just remember some of the key moments of the band's history with the town. The first time the band played in Vegas was just days after the release of "Hybrid Theory", but it's unknown what exactly the band played that night. In September 2007, the band played three shows in Las Vegas, one of which was just a performance of "Bleed It Out" at the VMAs, and luckily for us an excellent (albeit censored) video of this performance exists on YouTube and you can view it embedded below.

What an announcement by Timbaland.

In 2012, the band had two very memorable performances in the city, first in May when they performed "Burn It Down" at the Billboard Music Awards. There is also an excellent video of this on YouTube so you can watch that below aswell. The second was in September at the iHeartRadio Festival. This was only a thirty minute set, but it was highly memorable due to a few things - fan favorites "In The End", "What I've Done", "Bleed It Out" and "Waiting For the End" were all shortened, and Mike led the crowd into chanting "Las Vegas, Linkin Park sucks!" after their performance of "Waiting For the End".

What an announcemet by Swizz Beatz.
In January 2014 the band played two shows in the city, first for the launch of the Harman Infinity One, the second was a charity show benefitting Music for Relief and Power the World. The bands last performance in vegas was in May 2015 at the Rock In Rio USA Festival. This was the first performance the band did after cancelling their January and February dates of the Hunting Party North American Tour due to Chester breaking his ankle. At this show, the band was joined by Aaron and Austin from Of Mice & Men, Aaron on the Ballad Medley, Austin on "Faint". Check out the performance of "Faint" here and catch Chester and Austin almost having a bit of a scream-off.

But enough of the past. Let's focus on the present. What will the band be performing tonight? Well, honestly, it's a total shot in the dark for me to guess anything. On their recent South American tour, the band played either a 22 or 25 song set containing everything from six (yes, six!) songs off "One More Light" to old fan favorites like "Numb" and "In the End", and also premiered a new live version of "Leave Out All the Rest". There is a possibility the band will perform this same set, but there's also the more likely possibility of a shorter set. When the band played the album release show for The Hunting Party, they only did a ten song set with three new songs. This show was recorded and is avaliable in it's entirety (yes, including Brad's pee break) in the form of various YouTube videos, but let's focus on this incredible performance of the show intro and "Guilty All the Same". Can we all agree we miss this song in the live set?

Yesterday the band played a eight song set on Jimmy Kimmel Live, with songs consisting of all six songs from One More Light they've played so far. This brought us pro-shot recordings of songs like Invisible and One More Light that we haven't gotten yet. Chester dedicated One More Light to his friend Chris Cornell who had passed away less than a day earlier. Heavy and One More Light was shown on TV while the rest of the set was shown on the Facebook page for Jimmy Kimmel Live. Thankfully they didn't delete the recording afterwards so that we all can enjoy it now afterwards. So take a look here below.

Oh right, that's happening.
So now for tonight's show, there's the ever-so-slim possibility the band will perform the entire album. While I'm sure this is everyone's wet dream, it doesn't strike me as something the band would do, but I hope they do as much as the next guy. There's still some tickets left for tonight's show that you can acquire now through Ticket Network. If you miss it, don't sulk too much, the band is back in the city on September 2nd with Machine Gun Kelly.

After this show, the band only has one performance left before starting their run through European Summer Festivals. That performance was announced only a few days ago, May 22nd in Los Angeles for another iHeartRadio event. If you're attending any of the band's announced shows, make sure to sign up in our official meet up thread, and if you find other members going to the same show, be sure you snap a pic together and send it over to @LPAssociation on Twitter, and we'll be sure we share it absolutely everywhere.

Will you be attending this show? Excited to know what the band will play? Feel free to discuss everything even kinda-sorta-partially related in our forums!

Linkin Park's seventh studio album 'One More Light' is out today after almost three years since their last album 'The Hunting Party' which released back on June 13 2014. The album which consists of 10 tracks is self-produced by Mike Shinoda and Brad Delson and is the result of an 18 month writing and recording process.
When we sit in a room together, writing a song, the rest of the world often disappears. We’ll do whatever it takes in service of the music. The six of us are avid listeners and have a lot of opinions. From brainstorms to arguments, wild experiments to meticulous details, we focus an intense amount of energy into each song.

We often compare our process to digging a tunnel. We go underground for months at a time, thrashing around in the dark, looking for something new and unexpected. We have our ideas about where we’re going, but usually, there’s really no telling where we’ll end up until we get there.

One More Light took over a year to make. Each song started with the question, “what do we want to sing about today?” In starting with the content of each song, the album became anchored by our stories. Over the course of the year, our lives took twists and turns, for better and worse. More than ever, the content of our album was shaped by the content of our lives.

And as we “dug the tunnel” of this album, life kept happening. There were celebrations, mistakes, accidents, recoveries. Relationships began and ended; babies were born and people died. We were reminded that, while we’re at the mercy of the world around us, sometimes the only thing we have control over is our reaction.

In a sense, this became the light at the end of our tunnel.

In putting the words first, this album opened its doors to the world outside. One More Light is full of personal stories, and perspectives we’re still figuring out. We dug through our lives as friends, fathers, brothers, and bandmates. Each song is a snapshot in time, crafted with care, shared with the hope that someone listening will find themselves saying, “me too.”

To us, listening is an act of generosity. Thank you for your generosity, and thank you for being part of the Linkin Park community. Welcome to One More Light.

UPDATE #3: Watch Linkin Park's emotional and heartbreaking performance of 'One More Light' in memory of their dear friend and former touring partner Chris Cornell.

Some of the songs were streamed on Jimmy Kimmel's Facebook page. The setlist has gone as follows:

1. One More Light

2. Heavy
3. Talking to Myself
4. Battle Symphony
5. Invisible
6. Good Goodbye (shortened)
7. Numb (w/ Numb/Encore intro/outro)
8. In the End (w/ heavy audience participation)
UPDATE #1: While a half hour still remains until Jimmy Kimmel comes on for east coast viewers, the show tweeted that the band dedicated one of the songs they performed tonight to the late Chris Cornell. It was reported today that Cornell had passed away. It is possible that, for him, they played "One More Light."

Original Post:

We are almost there, folks - just one more day until Linkin Park's 7th album, 'One More Light,' comes out! The band has kept the fans (as well as themselves) occupied with a number of live performances recently, including a secret pop-up show in Grand Central Station in New York on Tuesday and a brief tour in South America that concluded on Monday. The lead-up to One More Light continues, as the band will appear on Jimmy Kimmel! Live today in Los Angeles, CA.

This will be the fifth time that Linkin Park has performed on Jimmy Kimmel, with the past four times taking place in 2014, 2012, 2007, and 2003. Mike and Chester also joined Steve Aoki for a performance in November 2013, where they performed "A Light That Never Comes" (see below).

The last time the full band performed on Jimmy Kimmel was on June 19, 2014 to promote their last album, 'The Hunting Party.' The performance was relocated from the regular venue to the iHeartRadio Theater, as the band had performed a release show there the day before. On Kimmel's show, the band performed "Until It's Gone," "Wastelands," and "Guilty All the Same." You can view the band's performance of "Guilty All the Same" below.

Of course - the band has already performed a number of tracks off of the upcoming album, including singles "Heavy," and "Good Goodbye," as well as "Battle Symphony," "Invisible," "Talking to Myself," and title track "One More Light." Following the trend of other Linkin Park performances on late night television, it's likely the band will stick to the new singles - but there's always a possibility that the band will premiere another new track! At the very least, it would be nice for us to see an HD performance for any of the tracks, since as of now we've only got the band's performance of "Heavy" with Kiiara back in February on The Late Late Show with James Corden (see below) - which was excellent.

The band will follow up tonight's performance on Jimmy Kimmel with a release show for the album in Las Vegas tomorrow.

Note: This post will be updated to include the setlist and any available video performances of the concert.

What do you think the band will perform on the show? Any tracks you're particularly eager to hear? Will any of you be at the concert? Let us know in our forums!

While many fans found out by social media about Linkin Park's surprise New York City acoustic performance in Grand Central Station, see official Good Day America video footage on ABC. The full recording of the performance is still not yet available but catch snippets of 'Burn It Down', 'Heavy', 'What I've Done, and 'In The End' live. Fans were singing loudly along with the band with some even in tears.

Update: This performance is set to air on Good Morning America on Thursday, May 18th at 7am EST, same day Linkin Park play Jimmy Kimmel.

Linkin Park surprised the commuters of New York City today by playing a secret pop-up show on the Shuttle Platform at Grand Central Terminal as part of Good Morning America's Pop-Up week. The show was kept secret from the public with no details announced prior apart from the initial announcement that something was going down today. Word began to quickly spread on social media though.

LPLive also live streamed it which was captured on their Facebook:

01. Heavy
02. Burn It Down
03 Crawling (Piano Version)
04. What I've Done
05. In the End (Impromptu Acoustic w/ Fans Rapping)

Even Linkin Park's mixing engineer tweeted about it:

U2 played in the same exact location back in 2015 which was also a surprise for travellers.
