What are your opinions on the song Step Up. The rapping is cool but it's kind of repetitive talking about the emcees. Weird voices from Remy too.![]()

step up is one of my favourite tracks - i noticed on a live version of papercut they play those voices and then it starts with the drum loop. thats kinda cool![]()
i like step up because mikes rappin is ace, i like LP songs that have rapped verses
Castle of Glass
Step up is one of the best LP/HT/Xero songs ever IMHO his rapping is super and remmy is pretty cool in that song too![]()
I love Step Up. I usually think it's stupid when they rap about other emcees, putting them down and stuff, but in here it's kind of funny. I don't treat it as a joke song, though, I just laugh sometimes thinking of Mike saying how good he is.
i love the ending as well - if you listen to the song though ear phones you can hear every single effect.... which is well cool, you can hear all the layers working togetheri like it
Step Up is one of my favourite songs, and, yeah, the rapping is real cool. All about emcees and stuff. Cool sound effects, and like JJ79 said, if you listen to the song through headphones you'll hear everything, even those little 'dings' and 'dongs'. Cool song overall. HYBRID THEORY EP RAWKS! :rawk:

Step up's lyrics are what other emcees were saying to linkin park when they first started rapping
The whole song fits together perfectly making it one of my favorite songs B)
The weird thing is you can twist that song up to be a total Limp Bizkit diss record. Which is weird because I doubt Mike does diss records.Originally posted by hellflame Prophecy@Jun 27 2004, 07:45 PM

I like Step Up because.... the bass and guitar don't play the same thing!! Brad really gets to show off in the song and doesn't have to play the same 3 riffs through the whole thing. I like it live because it's one of those "Call and answer" get the crowd more involved type songs. Plus Mr. Hahn gets to show off a little.

i like it when mr hahn has a chance to show off his skills
i love the 'who can rock a rhyme like this (and the sound effect after that) bring it to you everytime like this...'![]()
also i reckon that LP were quite good physicians in their early days if you notice the song patterns...there was High Voltage....then Step Up...notice anything? Methinks there was some physics in the making of this album!![]()

Step up is by far the best one on the EP (IMO). Remy sounds wicked and mikes raps are ACE.
Step up is awesome , Mike and Joe make a great team ..
Mike should make his own album with Joe , maybe it'll be great..
Dedicated is 5X better than Step up though!!![]()

I agree with you guys! Dedicated is awesome!
we need more songs like dedicated LP!!
joking aside - it would be really cool if LP did do some more tracks like that![]()
I totally fell in love with this song the first time i heard it. And Mike is kindof doing a spot of self-promoting in a cheeky manner. And was it really Remy doing the "Using the waves of sound" and the " After years of painstaking research" parts?
