If you look just as Chester is picking up the guitar and smashing it on the metal thing, you can see Mike from his chest to feet on the right of the screen. At one point, just a Chester is picking up the guitar, Mike makes a hand signal as to say "What the hell are you doing?" Look for it because it's there. I went back and watched it about 40 times

must have been a pretty solid guitar. I never noticed that in LIT too. Chester had the right to, he must have gotten pretty worked up screaming through the whole song.

But, if that really is what Mike was doing, it wouldn't make much sense. If I remember correctly, they smashed a guitar at the end of "A Place For My Head" on, like, 70% of their Summer Sanitarium shows.
Maybe Mike told Chester not to smash another and he did anyway.

Well, Brad threw it on the floor first so Chester was just finishing the job. I bet that guitar never saw that coming..
I think Mike was motioning to Brad, because he seemed to look more back than at Chester unless he was looking at the band behind him. I think he was motioning more to Brad on "What are you doing?" than Chester.
In any event, Shinoda was either confused or didn't expect it!

yeah I noticed that too.
i think that mike did that sign, cause he was waiting brad break the guitar, and he didn't, i think that part of breaking the guitar was prepared cause when i saw that, mike was like why you didn't broke the guitar, well i see it in that way.
