I think you should add a shoutbox to the forums (on the forums main page), I had one on mine and people really liked it. It's also a good way for the admins to say something important.
I've got a couple of problems with shoutboxes. 1) Sometimes they look tacky. 2) People can come in and say whatever the hell they want, flame anybody, spam, etc, and you can't ban them. 3) Why use a shoutbox when you've got forums?
Because the shoutbox allows you to tell things that aren't worth a topic and that everyone will see . But if you succeed in installing fear you will have no flaming problems . I said fear not respect .
Thank your for the suggestion. Alex and I actually had discussed this awhile back, but we agreed that it was pointless. Mainly the fact that there's no room for it, we will have to regulate what it said [obscenities] and the fact that the forum is a pretty good interaction for fans. If you have something pointless to say, there should be a 'Random Thought's thread in the Chit-Chat forum. It's generally on the first page and your free to speak on any oblivious topic. I dont think us hould I tried a shoutbox on my forums and it didnt look that well, I had a person who flamed people and was a huge jerk and I couldn't ban him
