Personally, I think it's too much... The price for the movie itself is ok (about 8$ CAN) but as for the pop-corn and the drinks... 3,50$ for a regular bag that costed 20¢ to prepare and 3$ for Coke with water added so they can make more money, this is stealing!

P.-S. Yes I was bored when I got the idea for this topic.

It's robbery here in the states. Its about 8 bucks per movie, then 10 bucks more if you want popcorn and a couple drinks. It's much cheaper to wait a few months until its out on DVD.

I always sneak in food :shifty:

I think it's like $9.50 to see a movie here and for food and drinks it is like 7. Don't buy food. That makes it cheaper :p .

It's $7 on Weekdays here (about $4 US) and $8.75 on Weekends (around $5.50 US). So no, I don't think ticket prices are expensive here. The food is what is crazy. A medium bag of popcorn with a medium drink for $8? That's crazy! We don't have very strict rules here about food so I bring in an ice cream from Dairy Queen or some pretzels from Pretzelmaker all the time. Altogether, a movie and a good snack is $9 - $12.

We're paying so much because of the distributing. If it's an independent movie theatre that gets less famous movies you aren't going to pay as much because it's not highly distributed. I like independent movies, I should see more of them.

8.50 is waaay too much for a 2 hour movie. It's like 7 cents a minute. How ridiculous.

It is $6 here for a matinee but $8.50 after 6. Well a small drink is 2.50 and a small popcorn is about $4. I just bring in food from the food court. We aren't suppose to but no one really cares. We can't bring in bags if we go shopping now though which sucks.

Haha, in Manchester we have a really posh place called TheFilmWork - and in there is an even posher place still called The Gallery.

Damn...they're both just awesome. A little expensive I'll admit - 5.50 for a full adult ticket - but 3.50 with a student card (thank god).

The price is definately worth it though because of the facilities the place has: Really big seats, great food and great films.

The Gallery is absolutly amazing though. It's a lot more expensive and is really for over 18's, but a friend of mine know's the guy that runs the place, so we get let in =P

The gallery is like your own private cimema. You can eat, drink etc in your own room and then be lead out by a "cast member" (what they call the workers there" into the screen area and then watch your film...it really is good :D

so yeah...I'm happy with it :p
