I don't know. I know some people in cover bands who do other bands songs quite well. sheesh
If your in a cover band, your paying tribute to the artists your covering because you actually take the time out to learn & perform the songs Anyways, isn't Deftones just a cover band? Lol. Just kidding dude

It's been like, practically my life-long dream to do a cover of Sarah McLachlan's Possession. I think that the music is so beautiful, and the lyrics are sweet. I'd do a way heavier-nu-metal sort of thing to it, but I like the way she did it. Anyways, I wouldn't want to be in just a cover band. I'm in a rock/? sort of thing right now and I think it's cool to try covers but to me, part of the whole idea of being in a band is composing one's own music.
I'd probably do a cover of some Dashboard Confessional and Get Up Kids songs, but never a Linkin Park song.
Oooh, let's see... "My December" - Linkin Park "Pushing Me Away" - Linkin Park "This Time Imperfect" - AFI "The Leaving Song pt 2" - AFI "Days of the Pheonix" - AFI "Pretty Girl" - Sugarcult "20 Going On..." - Tsunami Bomb "Bloody Valentine" - Good Charlotte "Real World" - Matchbox 20 Of course realistically speaking there's no way in hell I'd be able to do half those songs justice, but I can dream, right?
I was in a cover band last year...didnt last long, and we only played one real show but we played One Step Closer for my high school's talent show. We had 2 guitarists, one who played the actual song, and the other guy during the verse invented this really kick ass guitar part. I of course sang Chester's part, and we even had the 1stp Klosr-Jonathan Davis part recorded. Since the demo has that part instrumental, we recorded it, and i sang that part. When I had to scream ''SHUT UP!'', everyone in the band sang the "blood is pouring" as loud as they can (mainly because I was screaming VERY loud into a microphone) and we got second place in the show............first place was a bunch of pansy ass dancers who danced to Nsync.......made me wanna kill them and slaughter their families.
