Seriously. The performance, the lyrics, the harmonies, the builds, the climax... I can't think of another Linkin Park song I keep going back to with this level of frequency. It just hits you, man. It's one of the few Linkin Park songs where I don't feel like the lyrics or vocal performances mar the song, and the way they jive with the instruments and the harmonies they strike is, in my opinion, unparalleled within the rest of the band's discography. Agree/Disagree?
Not the biggest fan of those kind of threads, since people could potentially make one for every song the band has crafted. But... Nah. The song is cool, even great. But I don't consider it a piece of holy gold 1000 miles ahead of some of their other stuff.
What's a thread title without clickbait? (It's my honest opinion at least, so it isn't misleading clickbait. But it's a good way to get people talking about a song. )
I dont know if i would call Waiting For The End the best LP song, but i think it has to be atleast in the top 5 of LPs discography. I love all about thissong, the melody, the vocals, Mikes reggea rap-singing, Chesters singing, the drums (these chills ) and all the other stuff. Especially the bridge is fucking awesome. So good. Its definitely one of the most special songs by LP for sure. Cant name another one which is so special.
I love Waiting for the end but that honour always goes to TLTGYA for me. That fucking song. Sometimes it gives me the shivers.
There are definitely strong points you can make here, but it's not my personal favorite. Top ten, though.
I agree with this thread actually. It's just one of those rare songs that I feel just "works" on all fronts. Everything from the instrumental, to the lyrics, to the melodies and harmonies all work perfectly together. It also encompasses everything that is Linkin Park. Where else can you find a blend of reggae (Mike's 'accent'/style of rapping), hip-hop, arena rock and even some Beatles-esque harmonies during the second verse? In my opinion it's easily one of the strongest tracks on ATS, and definitely in the top 3 of the band's works, if not their best. Great song.
Agree. In my opinion there are better songs than Waiting for the End in all honesty. WTFE makes the top tier for me, but not the very top.
KRWLNG is an example of a remix being better than the original song IMO. The original is a decent track, but KRWLNG turned it on its head.
Same with 1Stp Klosr. Epic. Trying to think how LP would have been received as a band had some of the Reanimation tracks been on Hybrid Theory instead of the originals. They certainly wouldn't have been labelled as an MTV nu-metal boy band.
So true...Jonathan Davis' part before the bridge ruined the original for me. It improved the track in so many ways.
