Damn it's a real shame this song never came to fruition. It definitely has that ATS mindset of making something completely different but the guitars bring a great change to the game.
I know, but Primo is a demo too and I can listen to it like any other song. I was trying to sya I was hoping for something more finished and therefore something I could listen to more often.
Exactly. The electronics, and especially that bass line, definitely remind me of ATS. But then, there is those (almost Deftones-sounding, IMO) guitars which add a new raw dimension to it, and damn, that sounds sexy. And I know the raw vocals are due to it being a demo, and that they would have been way more polished in a final version, but...I find that rough take quite refreshing actually.
well, Primo was propably in a "end-stadium" while TooLeGit was more in a beginning one. Just my thoughts
I like it but I'm glad it inevitably wasn't developed. As most people have made comparisons to 30STM and AVA and such, I think it sounds too similar to them and doesn't really feel like an LP track.
HE HAS EARS EVERYWHERE. I was just tossing around ideas. I don't know if anyone would be committed enough to actually extend some LPU demos.
Everything about the vocals in the verse reminds me of a pop punk song, as does the chorus melody. But the way the chorus vocals have been treated and the delivery reminds me very much of Perry Farrell of Jane's Addiction and Porno for Pyros, which makes a lot of sense considering Chester's love of the Jane's Addiction.
My initial reaction from hearing the song was something like this: "Cool instrumental, nice guitar/bass, but what in the world is Chester saying?" It turns out that Chester wasn't actually singing lyrics but was improvising in the "chorus", as Mike explained in the LPU Track-by-Track video for this song. It was really cool hearing how Chester could improvise but still keep the melody intact, though there are quite a few real words and full phrases in the opening verse. I was able to hear something about a desert in the verses, among other themes. I'll have to listen to it a few more times to be sure. I'm certainly looking forward to whatever LP gives us for the next demo/b-side, though the wait will be quite long.
The good thing about the bi-monthly releases is that fans are never more then 2 months away from hearing another demo/b-side. That's pretty sweet.
This may be the first LPU demo with vocals that I wasn't really feeling. Maybe repeated listens will change my opinion, but right now it's very bland. I can see why they didn't flesh it out more. It's neat how 'different' it is for them, but it's very average.
