    Somehow I really recognise that first part up to 0:28, just can't quite put my finger on where it's from...

    Thats the same reaction i got when i saw a commercial playing that song. Thanks to my dad telling me what it was. Its from "Walk of Life" by Dire Straits. Doing that riff created energy to form the entirety of the improv.
