As explained in this linkinpark.com post, Linkin Park band member Joe Hahn has been involved in launching the THP-01 headphones by a brand called TOON Workshop. TOON Workshop is actually a collaboration between Hahn and the Japanese hobby/lifestyle brand Good Smile Company, who have previously worked with Linkin Park on projects such as the band's Nendoroid set and the official "Living Things" listening party in 2012. Hahn has made a cameo appearance in a new promotional video for the headphones: In addition, Hahn also recently performed solo DJ sets at promotional events leading up to the launch of the product, which he had a hand in designing. To find out about other such collaborations which the members of Linkin Park have engaged with in the past, you can check out this (incomplete) list on linkinpark.com. What are the specs on the headphones though? I wouldn't want to buy any pair without knowing the sound quality.
Sounds like a Living Things review from... what was that site called again? I bet the "Beats" hype also influenced the sound of this headphones...
Oh yeah, those were the days... -- Also, am I the only one who finds the name of the headphones kinda funny?
I like their design, but if Hahn calls them THP-headphones, they should somehow be reminiscent of the album design, in my opinion. At least, it would be damn cool to get such THP-themed headphones.
