Just discovered this black metal one-man project. Pretty fantastic stuff! Definitely worth checking out. Plus, folk and bluegrass elements.

Just discovered this new Icelandic Black Metal band named Misþyrming that are really fucking good. Tim and Pidgey will probably dig 'em. http://misthyrming.bandcamp.com/releases Kvlt as fuck d00d.
Interesting. Was not expecting that style of vocals. They sound more death metal-y than the shrill stuff you normally hear in black metal. Pretty cool. Anyone here a fan of Napalm Death? Their new album is excellent. There's just enough experimentation to give you time to breathe between all the grindcore-ing. I have a rather love/meh relationship with Napalm Death lol. I haven't heard the whole album I think because I find that particular song on the meh side. Don't get me wrong though. They have some really sick tones going in there. I'm all about dat tone.

Man, I haven't listened to Boris in ages. I kind of stopped paying attention to them after Smile, but they have some really cool shit. "Melody" is pretty catchy, so I might have to check some of their newer stuff out.
I started listening to this band a few weeks ago. Obvious comparisons to Deafheaven and Alcest aside (especially on the song I linked to below), this is pretty good on its own merits.
@Tim sounds pretty good! I've been listening to those guys a lot lately: Der Weg einer Freiheit [German/Bavarian (they're from Würzburg) Ambient/Atmospheric Black Metal] Lyrical themes: Life, Death, Nature etc. ... All their lyrics are written in German (they're almost poetic) It's funny because the members don't even look Black-Metal. (just google them) Plus they leave the typical satanic imagery and religious bashing out of their lyrics, hence why they got some backlash from genre elitists for not being "real" Black Metal (lol) Here's their bandcamp page: http://derwegeinerfreiheit.bandcamp.com/releases
A new Sulphur Aeon track is out, and the full album drops in April. This new one reminds me a bit of Behemoth.
Their debut is pretty awesome, so I'm looking forward to the new one! Just got into them recently. I swear they have some of the best cover artwork ever! I love the maritime/deep sea theme!
Not a big fan of the vocals, but these guys are pretty good.
