I love "Out of ashes", it's an incredible album and actually, i am waiting for a new record. Do you know something about this possibility?

Chester said the plan is to release a DBS record every 5 years...their last one was 6 years ago

I actually really enjoy Out of Ashes too, but sadly with Chester in STP, I don't think we'll be getting any new DBS albums. I can potentially see some of the songs being mixed into the setlist. Would be amazing to have Mike's Medley infused with more Fort Minor, while Chester gets his own DBS Medley.

A new DBS record will be coming at the same time a Fort Minor record will be coming:

    "If it's time".

We've been getting a 'I may do it soon' for Fort Minor for about 5-6 years now, whereas Chester basically said "maybe someday" for DBS. I imagine we'll see a new STP w/Chester album (or even two of those), before we ever get another DBS record. It sold absolutely abyssmally in the US and it was bad enough that Chester actually polled his followers on twitter as to whether or not the album sucked, because he was that let down [/pun] by it's performance.

Something like that is sure to leave a bitter taste in his mouth. So I'd be surprised if ever returns to the DBS project.

I loved it. It was like an album of songs stylistically similar to What We Don't Know. My Suffering is awesome.

Stone Temple Pilots isn't much different from Dead By Sunrise as far as a side-project for Chester goes. In many people's opinion, it's better

It's not a great record, but it had some pretty good songs on there. Nothing too special though.

That's what I mean, it's not gonna go down as a classic, but it's just a good fun rock record, not the steaming pile of crap that a lot of people seem to make it out to be

Precisely - What it lacks in originality, it makes up for with some pretty decent tracks. Nothing to write home for, but plenty to enjoy for someone who's a fan of Chazzy.

Honestly, with STP W/CB being a thing, I don't see too much point for a new DBS album, not that I'd be apposed to one, though, but it's unlikely.

It's overproduced yet feels so bland.

It has some really nice sounds on it we haven't heard from LP, like "In the Darkness" and the awesome chorus that is "Into You". I'm also a big fan of Give me Your Name, nice to hear Chester sing a straight love song. It's definitely special, though I can't imagine that much more from a second album that we couldn't get from STP or LP.

I still think that the DBS songs are way more enjoyable than the new STP songs. Who knows if he ever returns to DBS. I'd appreciate it.

Never realised it sold so poorly, damn shame cos I really liked it. Personally much prefer it to STP, not that their music isn't good but not really my thing.

And that's exactly what killed it. The album was overproduced to the point of having most of the emotion stripped completely from it. Yes songs like "Give Me Your Name" still had plenty of feeling, but then you have Let Down, which was totally wrecked by the overabundance of electronics. The live acoustic version Chester did of that song is leagues better than the final copy.
